I assert the most virulent disease vector is four year-olds in preschool. Immature immune system coupled with lots of new infection opportunities.

Now that could solve a multitude of societal ills. And it should be covered by all health insurance.

Some food for thought, first an oldie but goodie...

Spend 30 years in a locker room with a bunch of hard working and hard drinking EMS providers who don't wash their hands enough and don't get paid sick days so they come to work with all manner of shit.

I haven't had a cold since I retired from that scenario.
I have been in this State for 30 years and I am willing to admit that I am part of the problem.

I take Stamet's Seven along with AG1 and I haven't been sick since COVID in 2020. Remarkable, considering I'm 46 and have 3 and 8 year old petri dish kids.

Why do we always get the petri dish model? Isn't there a way to uncheck that box when ordering from the factory?

It's hidden beneath the mandatory tipping.

As the father of a 2 yr old in daycare, i can confirm this. My wife and i have mostly just been sick since september with a couple days of health interspersed here and there. At some point we just had to lean in and embrace the snotfaced disease vector and all his immune boosting gifts.

I saw SB post about eating 34 garlic cloves per day and while that may be on the high side I do eat a TON of garlic and am rarely sick. If I'm under the weather, I've been known to muddle a few cloves in a shot glass with some olive oil and salt and knock it back, kinda burns going down but it'll do wonders. my mom was a pediatric nurse for her entire career, she and her fellow nurses would chew on cloves at the hospital during flu seasons and they'd swear by it.

altho in general I agree with the hydration/sleep/healthy eating/limit drinking, etc. regimen.

I wanna say that should be 3-4, not 34 but if you can do it go for it.

Starting back up with elderberry liquid and elixir of ACV, garlic and honey.

How to improve my immune system?

Upthread, jokingly I mentioned to OP to become an elementary teacher to be able to gain a super human strength immune system…..being around all the germ infested rug rats every day.

I changed my mind…..the shit they’ve been passing around lately….my super human immune system doesn’t work anymore….the coughing/snot nose/ breathing on me all day long has become my kryptonite…lol.

I’ve and most of staff have been battling since early October/ goes away for a week/ comes back again….and again…and again…(just like last school year)

Good thing is that I’ve set 2 world records the past 3 months….

    - Blowing my nose in a day
    - Amount of EmergenC taken by a human being in a 3 month span.

*Teledoc finally prescribed me a 10 day prescription of Doxycycline….hopefully that knocks out whatever has been in me since mid-October.

Eating that much garlic will keep everyone away so it probably does work, never mind walking around with a garlic dip.

Yeah gonna need solid peer reviewed published evidence that it works before I start smelling like ass all winter just to not catch a cold.

Just recently I had a snotty nose and straight pulled the garlic out. A clove with every meal. It worked, fine after two days.

There's not a whole lot of compelling evidence. However, people should eat more garlic because it's quite delicious...

How to improve my immune system?

So a couple anecdotes about taking garlic to fight off a cold - average length of a cold is 7-10 days so would need evidence that this shortens it and/or diminishes severity of symptoms - again an anecdote about how it worked for you is impossible to support as evidence as there is no way to know if you woulda got better just as quickly without it.

And if garlic for a couple days is proven to speed cold recovery this does not automatically = taking garlic every day all winter lessens risk of contracting a cold.
