184 Devastator w/ Griffins

In short, they had an extra pair of unplugged heel holes, and the base raised up a bit under those holes after skiing them for a few days in UT. I ended up doing what I suggested at the end of my post above - I plugged the extra holes with g-flex and bamboo, and flattened the base out with my Skivisions planer. Everything seems to be holding up just fine since that fix--heel piece on that ski went in great and was holding solid, and the base hasn't bulged again--but including all of this detail here in the interest of full disclosure.

Open mount for marker royal at at 296 BSL, about ~1cm behind recommended. One ski has 1.5 mounts (two toe sets, one heel), and the other has 2 mounts (two toe sets, two heel). Old mount was for ~315BSL. See new pic added at bottom.

Top sheets are in solid shape - there were some significant nicks that I fixed with g-flex and have held up really will. I took some pics of the more notable ones below. It's good g-flex work if I do so say so myself.

Bases are in excellent shape after the fix I noted above. Prior to finding that issue they were ground by a good shop here and have seen 6-7 days since then.

Edges also very good where it matters. There is some pitting and rust on the tails, but who cares about tail edge.

The 19/20 (this ski) is unique--they lightened it up a little by switching the core from ash/poplar to beech/poplar, but I the shape/rocker profile is the same as the OG (all previous years) dev.

Do you have a source for that? I was pretty sure this was the final year before they made the core change; I think the change you are mentioning was to the ones that followed the next year, with the viking ship graphic. Then the following year they did the complete re-design.

Edit - I just weighed them again to make sure I wasn't full of it and they average ~2270g per ski, so right in line with the proper old construction.

I have old devs and bought these last year as backups. Was told they def were the old heavier line.

I get 4frnt emails and responded w a call to do a run of old heavier devs. They got right back and said they'd look into it

I can't believe nobody is willing to throw down $150.00 bucks for these. The bases look great and who cares about the top sheets. These are a killer ski. These are my low tide, shit snow, tree skiing, maybe its going to dump, it just dumped, ski wherever ski.

Used Dev market is weird. I had 13/14 heavy Devs that were in super nice shape and I couldn't unload them here for $250 with nice binders lol. Ended selling to a friend off the boards.

I don't get it either. Ive really liked every iteration of the Devastator and have the same ski as pictured above in 184 and last years in 179 and both kick ass. It's a great ski for both coasts.

Wax, if you already pulled bindings, can you post a photo of the binding area? I wanna see what I could reuse/squeeze in for a 317 BSL.

Prior mount was for a 27.5 boot so you should be able to reuse holes without any issue. I’ll post pics later today though for sure

Pic of holes added to original post - for a 317 you should be able to re-use the old toe holes without any trouble and won't need to drill anything new (apart from drilling out the plugs).

I love them. I patched up the edge crack and straightened out the bases. I love the skis. They are a good hard charging ski.

Bump - these skis are awesome. Bought a brand new pair on here a few years ago and are my go-to DD ski. At 155# 5'9" these things are super fun in most snow. Mounted with demo bindings and most days run 'em a bit back from recommended.
