    1up Quik rack single

Got a deal on a double such that it’s a flat trade versus adding another tray. As such, this one is up for sale. Pickup in Boston area, but will be going to KT end of sept and could deliver along the way.

Purchased May 2019. Everything works as a 1up should. The threads for the screw to put on the 2” adapter are a little rough—would benefit from being chased if you were going to go back and forth frequently between 1.25 and 2, otherwise it’s not really an issue. Also see some of the 2” plates for sale on Craigslist if you wanted to run a dedicated 1.25 or 2”.

Some surface rust on a few of the bolts but nothing atypical for a New England rack. Stored in winter. Mechanism is still smooth all around.

Good deal on a great rack.

Every time I see a single rack, I think of that one friend who never wants to drive when friends get together for a ride. “Sorry guys, I can only carry one bike.”

I saw a couple a few years back at a zone in Woodstock that had matching 4.0m BMW suvs with single one ups.
They had that "have you seen my 'gram? Look"

If JU doesn't take it I will

We have a friend who has a single 1up... because her ex-boyfriend took the second tray when they broke up. So now whenever I see a single rack I feel happy for that person because they got rid of their douchebag ex.
The older I get, the faster I was.

    Punch it, Chewie.

    Damn he seems cool.

I have a rear-ended 1up HD double that I want to rebuild into a single if I can get the right replacement parts.

Wouldn't pay full price for a single and insurance already bought a new double that lives on my wife's car...but I see the appeal of having a single on my GTI that won't block the hatch from opening. If I'm carrying more than one bike, I'm taking the bigger car, so a single would be a nice luxury item for the fun car (my bike wheelbases have outgrown the roof rack tray I used to use on it).

What parts do you need? I have (I think) 4 arms that 1UP replaced due to defective (faded) anodizing. I don't have any of the bolts etc. just the arms.

Ha! Never thought a single rack would elicit so much reaction. Had the single because no one else in the house rides(until now). Plus driving a fiesta mostly and it doesn’t block the tailgate.

When it does come time for me to drive, I just use my friends rack on my car. No BMW driver bullshit here!

I have a good set of trays and a second set that are a little mangled but probably functional except one bent arm (one tray piece is bent a bit but I think it would work fine).

But it is the metal plates they pivot on that are destroyed . On one the bolt is ripped through and the other one it is just a little volcanoed, but I don’t trust pounding it back since it is aluminum.

Everything else is fine, but I’d need to get the single-rack side bars (that connect to the pivot) as I don’t think I can just cut down the double to do a conversion.

That was in my marriage vows.

I’ve had a single for 10+ years. Always planned to buy a second tray but have had vehicles where throwing a bike in the back or bed was easy enough that I’ve never bothered.
Remind me. We'll send him a red cap and a Speedo.

Have you contacted 1up? I bet that they could send you replacement parts

Yeah, they actually have the fanciest spare parts department out there including 3d exploded schematics to figure out exactly what you need.

But converting from a double to a single requires enough extra parts that I’m debating just fixing the broken bits and selling it as a double. Owning both a single and a double might be an unnecessary luxury.

Ha I'd buy a double from you in a minute. Looking to upgrade and I'd then buy a single to add on it. Nice to carry 3 with bikes!
