    Ski Fatigue and Conditions

Do any of you feel like you wear out skis more frequently in higher density variable snow conditions?

I noticed that the end this season I had finished off a couple pairs of burly skis that had a ton of days on them. But a relatively new pair with a pretty heavy layup also showing significant softening. Never occurred to me that ripping through 3-6 inches of crud is probably a ton more stress on the materials than low density fluff skiing.

I only notice the extent my old skis are worn out when I switch to new ones.

Marshal Olson way back in the day posted how long different ski builds held up before wearing out. I was surprised how fast he said the wood fiberglass skis wore.

A big day of touring and carving leads to a gentle full rocker on my Dynastar Mythics. They seem to recover to flat camber with a week off and even got a few mm of camber over this summer.

Any chance you have a link? Search+google didn't turn it up for me.

Unfortunately no, just memory and I think he changed up his login so searching current wouldn’t turn it up. I think he was working with DPS at the time and big on carbon construction.
