Maybe I'm just old and crazy but I swear life was better (more authentic?) back then and I'm glad I got to do my growing up before all this technology.

Old? Maybe. Crazy? Nah. There was enough tech back then to make life comfortable without sucking consciousness like an insatiable black hole.

There’s a pretty clean line of demarcation ~2007 when the unholy marriage of smartphones and easily accessible social media platforms started us down the road to Idiocracy.

Somewhere between the 70s of hands in the air and the phones of the 2020s there was of course the technology of the bic lighter.

Ted Danson has a new show coming out, which actually looks kinda interesting. Hearing about that triggered a memory of something he did much earlier in his long and varied career. Classic!

Truly one of the great moments in cinema!

TD: Okay, then: two memories. One is that my scenes were mostly with Leslie Nielsen, who—and you can Google him and see him doing this on talk shows—went through a phase where he had a handheld bellows-like thing that was a fart-noise maker.
