Hearing tOSU fans start to call for Ryan Day’s replacement during a QB rebuild and no losses is hilarious, but it’s happening a lot from what I’m reading/hearing.
Between them and Bama I’m not sure who’s gonna stroke out first if they don’t make the playoff.
I still call it The Jake.
Best shit talk all time against the Ducks came from their own former player.

Happy to make turns with you. Catch me at Skibowl every Sat and most Sundays. I won’t be wearing Green and Yellow.
If you all want to fling a bit more hate my way. I like The Irish. Blame watching Rudy a million times as a kid and bonus it pissed my dad off. Nevertheless, it was an easy choice rooting for Beavs in the 2001 Fiesta. I now reap what I sow as my youngest boy’s first question if I am watching a game is “who do you prefer” and then promptly starts rooting for the other.

Heisman award. All top 10 current front runners are QBs. In the last 23 years only 3 winners have been not QBs. Is it time to add a new award for QBs only and bar them from the Heisman?
"Let's be careful out there."
For more poo slinging, it's not that Duck fans are magnanimous, it's that the Beavers simply don't register on our radar.
love me some skibowl. lets do this. I actually have an orange coat (see comment above).
Love the hate from the former duck player. Probably not hard to find seeing as how many kids leave disgruntled...I mean via the transfer portal (e.g., Tyner).
I don't know man, keep the Heisman as-is but add a few more awards, maybe a QB specific award, best non-QB player, etc.
Damn shame, throwing away a perfectly good white boy like that
Seriously? A rant as transcribed by Clownzano from an anonymous "player?"
Either you're new to the Oregon sports world or that's about as desperate of a reach as it gets. That dude is the biggest hater on the planet of ALL teams in Oregon, so much so that he was blackballed by the Blazers for a while for fabricating an "anonymous" source. He's a fucking hack and that's common knowledge. Next up, Dwight Jaynes, aka Grandpa Saltypants?

I have never been treated better anywhere, than Eugene. Wearing a coug shirt, sloppy drunk and lost trying to find my buddy's tailgate, I had 3 different duck tailgates give me food, Gatorade/beer, some good natured ribbing, directions and well wishes. They could not have been nicer. I'll always have a soft spot in my heart for the ducks because of that.
That article/opinion could come from any school with a fan base. On any given game day there will be a crowd of drunken dumbasses of the lowest common denominator at games. It sounds like the former player feels a bit used by the college athletic system, quite a few former football player feels that way. The smart ones use football and create a life path after playing career some just fade away broken and bitter.
I actually like Canzano but at this point he needs to create his own content and will do just about anything to create traffic to his site.
I can’t fathom expecting a rival to root for you just based on being in the same conference.
Born and raised in Chapel Hill as a Duke fan…I will root for every ACC team for anything out of conference except UNC. They can get fucked in everything, and I’ve been that way my entire life….except the short time I dated an ex UNC soccer player…but even then, it was only soccer.
Rival are rivals. You never wish them well.
On a related note, I recently saw an Instagram video asking Spurs fans to choose relegation or Arsenal wining the premiership. Nearly all of them chose relegation. That’s how a rivalry works.

Lets explore this a bit. College football is a lot different than pro soccer and pro hoops. So lets say UNC football is in the natty against some SEC or Big 10 team, lets say it's Alabama for instance. Duke football fans would root for Bama? I guess each state is different. And again, it's not that we're asking the Beav fans to root for the Ducks...we're pointing out that it's odd behavior to hate the Ducks so much when the we straight up don't give a fuck about the beavers. I'm sure UW fans say the same thing about Wazzu...they don't register as being anything to care about...is indifference on one side vs. complete hatred on the other.
Damn shame, throwing away a perfectly good white boy like that
Yep. I’m rooting for Bama.
What you’re describing is more the NC State-UNC dynamic.

It all depends on how vindictive and bitter you are versus being practical. It's practical to pull for other teams in your conference over non conference opponents. But, some would rather die than pass on the joy of seeing your rival and their fans humiliated by some other conference... That's when they lose. To be pissed because the rival won is where it becomes not practical. It helps your rankings when other teams in your conference kick ass.. too.
Go that way really REALLY fast. If something gets in your way, TURN!
I should’ve included some Colorado hate, zero love for that team. Enjoy 2 years of everybody look at me before I chase the next shiny object. Deion is such a massive d-bag, he kicked 60+ kids to the curb for his short term game. Surprised he hasn’t turned Ralphy into a bison burger.

Why is cutting 60 kids a scar on Deion? It’s a business. He got who he wants in there now and is rolling (for now). I do think people are getting ahead of themselves. But after a 1-10 season, I think it’s ok for all the hype.
It is not coach prime that has employed a scorched earth strategy, it was the previous CU coaches and administration that nearly killed the football program bringing in kids that had no chance to compete. It was on fucking life support and was almost dead last in every statistical category last year. Prime was tasked with a huge rebuild and people expected him to sit on his hands and play nice like a Dabo Sweeney who took over a 9 win team or Kirby Smart who took over a 10 win team? You know how many black coaches have been hired to replace a fired black coach in p5 college football? This ain't intramurals
Prime has turned the program into a team that at least believes they can win. He has far exceeded outside expectations, dominating the spread in the first two weeks and good for him. So many wanted to watch him fail, but the guy is putting in hard work. His style pisses off a lot of old white boomers though.

I can't stand the dude but I agree with the nuke and pave 1000%. College football isn't pop warner.

I work on the CU sidelines. Deion runs a tight ship. He promotes his players by embracing the new rules and opportunities. But also holds them, and his coach staff, accountable.
This I've heard secondhand... team had highest GPA in team history last spring, players show up early to class, sit up front, hold doors open, etc. This is per some students.
Two things can be true... a confident and sometimes brash attitude need to win, and a culture of discipline, respect, accountability... also needed to win.
I get that he can be polarizing, but if you dig in and listen to the man, there's a whole lot of substance behind the headlines. Part of that is moving on from a 1-11 roster.
Glad to see I’m not the only one seeing that Neon Deion will leave when his younger son graduates, probably to be a QB coach for what ever NFL team selects his son. Then CU can go back to being the soccer and lacrosse university that it should be.
I loved the first video of him touring the indoor practice facility. The soccer nets are at 27 seconds in, the Lacrosse nets are at 58 seconds. The dozen CU students that follow football are cheering him on at 15:00 minutes.

x100. I don't think he's here to stay long term necessarily, but few coaches ever are these days. But sympathy for the cut players? I have zero issue with athletes being compensated while still in school, but student-athletes begged and then eventually sued for the right to get paid like professionals. Professionals get cut, traded or benched when they go 1-11, so welcome to the world of professional athletics kids.
"They don't think it be like it is, but it do."
And they are guarantied their scholarships at CU whether they got cut from the team or not. Most transferred to go play elsewhere, but there were some who chose to finish out their degrees on scholarship, but not on the team.
If you are not good enough to make the team, you get cut. Deion, on day 1, informed the team that most of the current players would get cut and that they should start looking for somewhere to transfer. IDK how you get mad at him for giving the players the best possible chances for them to land on their feet with another team.
