Harbaugh is going bye bye. Whether or not he actually violated any rules (pretty sure he did based on the fact that the Michigan employee spent over $55k on airline and travel expenses), that dude is a shit magnet. Bummer for Michigan but they'll always get great coaches.
I don't think he's back in '24.
"All God does is watch us and kill us when we get boring. We must never, ever be boring."
Someone was definitely bank rolling this. And even if Harbaugh claims he never knew, most of the coaching staff probably knew. No way an OC or DC is going to call plays or shift defensive formations on a play-to-play basis based on what a junior "analyst" tells them unless they absolutely know he's got the goods.

I'm clearly biased as a Michigan fan from a UofM family, but the amount of pearl clutching over this story has been pretty amusing to me with many coaches saying, meh; "everyone" does it already, its not against the rules, and it all goes away by letting the kids wear a microphone like they do in the NFL and most large high schools.
I think the NCAA is trying oh so very hard to remain relevant.
Also, the memes and signs will be great the rest of the year.
I still call it The Jake.
Ask Bellcheck and get back to me, yes NFL.. But, also against the NCAA rules to go off campus to scout an opponent practicing. Recording their sidelines during the game is a big no no.. as is going to their practice venues to do pretty much... anything
Everybody does it only works as a defense when nobody's getting caught.. Rules are still rules until they are changed.

The reaction from Michigan fans vs (nearly) everybody else is pretty hilarious to watch. On Gameday, Desmond tried to blow it off as a big nothingburger. He seemed genuinely surprised that the rest of the crew basically said "dude you're wrong this is a big problem".
I'm no fan of the NCAA myself, but its hard to remember a more clear cut case of cheating to gain a competitive advantage.

^^^da bears.....next coach.
Matt Ruhle gave an interview today where he said (to the other B1G coaches) better make sure your house is clean before weighing in with a stern opinion on this one.
I think we’re all over it. With NIL, the game is over. Pearl clutching over anything other than actual malice or cheating is gone.
I still call it The Jake.
So your defense is “Everyone’s doing it but we were the only ones dumb enough to get caught.” That’s brilliant, and on par with the level of intellectual rigor we’ve come to expect from Michigan and it’s fans. Good luck with the NCAA.

Story keeps growing:
https://www.espn.com/college-footbal...-big-ten-games
“ESPN has confirmed that Stalions has purchased tickets to more than 35 games at 17 stadiums around the country. He has used a network of at least three people, who were forwarded the tickets to attend games.
A source told ESPN on Tuesday that the NCAA has been sent at least an hour of video evidence that shows a person sitting in a seat appearing to video the home sideline with a smartphone. Stalions purchased the ticket for that seat. The video is expected to be used as part of the investigation to show that electronics were used in the signal-stealing ring, according to sources.”
Harbag has always thought he's the smartest guy in the room and it has fucked him every single time.
Houston Astros still got to keep their 2017 World Series championship. USC had to forfeit their natty and Bush's Heisman in 2006. Fans already got their natty t-shorts though so nobody GAF at that point..

No defense at all.
I flat out don’t care and don’t think anything will come of this in the current climate.
Sure some fines or stuff may be given up, but to what end?
The framework to elevate this to a forfeiture of a season or games does not exist to my knowledge.
Harbaugh is gone to the [Bears] after this season and the NCAA is gone shortly after that. I’m sure the new helmets with microphones will work great.

Waiting for the ransomware hack during the middle of the SuperBowl.. Pay us $809704702704 Bitcoin and we'll give you back your comm system LOL.
The next gen is already happening at Gallaudet where they have screens to read the info instead of in ears...Slightly off topic, remember when Mariah Carey's in ears failed during the NYE concert hahaha!
And NIL isn't exactly paying players to play. It's paying them to do other stuff like pose and royalties for their names on jerseys. It's no different than back when alumns paid players for fake jobs, but NIL transactions are REAL jobs.
I'll agree there is an arms race happening for who can offer the highest paying NIL jobs/royalties.

No, if you actually read the article Bmills is right. The assistant coach was trying access University of Michigan computers fraudulently, for what purpose they haven't said. I'm not sure what he could have been doing on his own university's computers that would rise to the level of an FBI criminal investigation? Stealing info to pass along to TCU? Apparently the fraudulent access happened in weeks leading up to their CFP game.

How about to change grades for otherwise academically ineligible players? We all know it was somehow related to cheating to give Michigan Football an edge. Whether it was for spying or bumping grades, or some other purpose, the end goal was likely the same.. Cheating..

Harbaugh is so fucked. Dude just came out saying he was paid to go videotape games of future opponents over the last two years. I was always surprised with how fast the turnaround happened. Going from sucking for a decade to big ten champs all at once, whooping OSU's ass two years in a row after OSU winning how many?
