Bluebird on Thursday at Asahidake
Last day goodies out of Kamikawa
approved.
TGR is letting the Japan stoke come through!
Even without major dumps over the last few days we’ve had a stellar powtastic road trip. Wheels, last min accom bookings and touring rig is the key for Hokkaido.
New storm coming in second half of next week with a big refill on the cards. Should be great everywhere. Back to Euro pow for me. Until next year…
Testing…

Edit for photo uploaded fail.
"If we can't bring the mountain to the party, let's bring the PARTY to the MOUNTAIN!"
Snow coming in.
FWQ Hakuba is a wrap. Awards tomorrow, then I’ll be heading north Wednesday, Thursday. May ski Shiga Kogen, Madarao, Arai, Ani, can’t hit them all but want to hit Geto Kogen with some of you peeps— or wherever you’re at.
Also— every time I ski Hakuba I’m always humbled. This place is gigantic and steep.
Never stop respecting how tiny you are.

geto kogan was not great on sunday. Ice crust underneeth and a small dust on top.
Appi was fantastic today would have been better yesterday. A solid 30 cm fell there at some point from sat to sunday. Lots of low angle pow trees to duck imaginary ropes to ski in appi and geto kogen.
Still trying to wrap my head around that only a fraction of the trees are open and most are not despite there being zero avalanche risk. Getting the whistle from ski patrol on the lift shook me lol.
Welcome to Japan. It's not that it's not safe, it's that they don't want to manage it. Nor do they want to spend the money. A lot of JP resorts are in the red and can't go deeper.
Also realize that the majority of staff don't actually ski. They farm. And they work the resort jobs in their own off season. They don't give a shit about people that want to ski pow.
Anyway, more snow coming.
Niseko summit yesterday!

Beautiful day for it. The last two days have been stunning, some of the best long distance view days I’ve ever had over here!
How are you guys posting pics? I have some stunners.
Hakuba just went off. Solid, deep, frozen base with shallow, predictable pow. Not going to be the case for a while now that a big storm is rolling in. But the chairs are going to be firing.
Shiga Kogen or elsewhere tomorrow am. Could just stay here but kind of want to experience as many new places as I can this week while it’s nuking.
Cortina is also calling me. It’s closer. But then I’ll have to wait a day for new snow. The storm is starting in the north and going south. I feel like I should drive the opposite way through it and stop when appropriate.
The passenger seat is full of croissants, ham, and cheese for dirtbag style roadie. It’s about the aesthetic.
Stay safe, homies. Don’t let this storm suck you into unwise terrain.
gaijin come chill with us
Ani tomorrow Morioka area (resort TBD) after that
I gots coffee for ya

Funny you should say that. My crew here was telling me to tell you to go to Ani.
Still waiting on one more logistical solution. Will keep in touch.
