I’ll bite (see what I did there?); I’ll let m27 speak for himself Buzz, but I read his comment to be related to the contrast between “he caught a shark” and “they made him throw it back”. Who is they if he caught the fish?

Hes 9 and was on a fishing charter with my dad, and a few other dad/son pairs off Amelia Island .

He kept and ate the whiting he caught, but the Hammerhead was young so the captain/guide suggested throwing it back

There's rules and regulations out there.. I dunno if the little shark was legal to keep or not, but a guide requiring or encouraging a client to throw back a catch is certainly not uncommon.

I was diving the back side of Molokini Crater once, it’s a sweet wall dive, and a drift. We were at about 120 feet early into the dive, and along the wall I saw a 5-6 ft white tip coming at us, at our depth. Now I’ve seen a 12 ft hammerhead off key largo, and lots of smaller black tips, but this fucking guy did 2 1/2 circles around us. Then swam off into the deep. It was creepy.
