    Denver Eats

So, I spend more time in Denver/Golden than SLC these days, so this could be informative.
I’ll start with my absolute go-to’s in Golden, Sherpa House and Bonfire burritos. I have never, ever been disappointed by either.

What kinda eats you looking for? More Tavernetta or more Brothers Bar?

When in Golden I drink at Cannonball which usually has a good food truck.

Arvada's So Radish is dank. It's vegan but is comforting and delicious across the board. Deep can list as well.

    In NW Denver:
    - Hops and Pie (get detroit.)
    - Get Rights and Bakery 4. (expect a line on weekend mornings)
    - Fire on the Mountain (wings)
    - Denver Biscuit Company (hangover breakfast)
    - Hey Kiddo (when you want champers and caviar)
    - Tocabe (fast casual fry bread for life.)
    - Sputino (for a nice night out. Banging wine list)
    - Ros Siam (good Thai)
    - El Jefe (farm to table Mexican. Go for brunch).
    - Kike's Red Tacos (the name isn't a slur)
    - Ashkara (upscale Israeli)
    - various places inside Edgewater Public Market which is actually a decent foodhall: Glady's, Konjos, Metaburger are my go to.

If you want good Vietnamese -- s. federal is your spot for both pho and bahn mi. Aurora side of town has better inexpensive east african and asian hole in the walls. If you're driving through Broomfield Burns Pub + 4 Noses are great.

Rheinlanders, SWP / Stock Room, So Radish and Arvada Tavern right in a row, that's hard to beat.
Have you had the celery root pastrami from Glady's ? That will knock your socks off.

    Some other favorites:
Eat: Lady Nomada, Teocalli, Jim's Burgers, Blue Pan, Bacon Social, Cozy Cottage, Parisi, Post Oak, Vital Root
Beer: Westfax, New Image, DBC Arvada, Barquentine
After Hours: Tatarian, Williams and Graham, Berkeley Untapped

    ....
Yeah, that pastrami is -- as the kids say -- gas. Really really good.

My fave for beers in NW Denver/Wheat Ridge: New Image Wheat Ridge (IPA), Hogshead (English ales), Goldspot (wide range, quality), Crooked Stave (sours & lagers), Westfax (IPAs).

If you're willing to drive a bit further on I70 -- Cohesion lagers is probably my fave brewery in town right now.

Are you kidding? I fucking LOVE riding the tech-Chunk-Gnar of the Golden trails, and I stay right at one of the trailheads. But yeah, traffic blows. Restaurant options, however, are a million times better than JH.

Lucky enough golden showers is full of distilleries breweries and wineries probably enough in a five mile radius to consider it the doishery capital of the Intermountain west you can bring your kids and post on social media about how dope your front range lifestyle is while getting shitty faced

Had great take out recently from Pupusas Lover on Colorado just south of 25. Also went back to Tarasco's on Federal below Alameda recently and it was as good as ever. I love their huaraches, especially the one with nopales. Great mole too

Also dim sum on the weekend at Star Kitchen is as good as it ever was precovid. The larger the group the better cuz you can sample more dishes and be sure to go early because they sell out of some of the favorites by noon

You forgot about bringing your patio dog named Bear or Bella or Luna. Bonus points if it wears a bandana that matches your flatbrim. Make sure to keep your Smith Wildcats on after your bike ride so everyone at the bar knows that you get fucking rad.

I've never been to Sherpa House but I randomly started chatting with a couple of Nepalese guys (who live in Denver) on the summit of Shavano the other day who were saying that it's their go-to for classic cuisine when they need a fix. Imma have to swing by the next time I'm over that way

    On the east side:

Fruition is fantastic for a swanky dinner.

North County in Lowry is awesome. The beer garden in Lowry has good burgers.

Kassai Sushi is great and surprisingly affordable.

$40 taco salads and enchiladas? That's exactly what Denver was missing.

On the Italian front, good places:

    Venice Ristorante
Barolo Grill (haven't been here in a long time, but was excellent way back when)
    Panzano's

They also have a Greenwood Village location which is a bit less high brow and just as good, IME.

ETA: They currently have one of my all-time favorites on the menu currently:

    Pappardelle con Cinghiale $24.95
Homemade egg ribbon pasta with braised wild boar, root vegetables, plum tomatoes and merlot wine sauce.

    Goddam that stuff is good.

Went to three great new finds so far this weekend.
    Sushi Uokura (Golden)
    Tacos seline (Littleton)
San Telo Market (Argentinian, Downtown Golden)
    You can’t go wrong.
I did have my first very mediocre lamb vindaloo at Sherpa House, the lamb was basically just inedible gristle.

    Denver Eats

Coriander - very solid Indian in Golden periphery (Rte 6 and Denver West/CO Mills).

(It used to be an even better Thai place — a second location of Daughter Thai in LoHi which I heartily recommend)

Abejas in downtown Golden for a classy dinner or Sunday brunch.

El Callejon arepas & pupusas - downtown Golden next to D’Deli which doesn’t need an introduction.

Sushi counter at the Golden Mill (on Clear Creek) is solid although it is exactly as fastfred and adrenalered describe

Mr Miner’s Meats at the Tributary food hall has great sandwiches for lunch. Rest of the food options there are kinda meh.

Nosu Ramen (downtown Golden) has good appetizers but ramen is just OK IMO.

Bob’s Atomic Burgers for very well executed very greasy burgers.

Santiago’s for smaller and cheaper breakfast burritos than Buttfire Burritos.

    Xicamiti x1000

I’ll have to check out Sushi Uokura - thanks for the heads-up
