I booked on one of those 3rd party sites that makes you worry right up until the minute you get handed the room key, so it was actually cheaper than The Armstrong. I'll let you know how it goes.

Anyone been to hamburguesas don jesus? I was telling one of my Mexican coworkers how much I love crazy Mexican hamburgers and she said this place is the best she's had.

Speaking of which, have you guys had any of these Mexican burgers? Last one I had was a patty topped with grilled ham, split hot dog, chorizo, a sunny side up egg, avocado, grilled jalapeno, and cheese. Shit was real

That's my comfort food of choice. For Mexican cheeseburger, Chubby "white boy hot" with face melting green.

Super Cubano Torta or Lomito Completo will also work.

Have to second North County. Bagel place next door does Montreal style bagels which are great and shows just how shitty Einstein bagels is.

Another good choice is 7 Leguas on Colfax and Cherry. Not upscale but food is great and top shelf margarita is fantastic and packs a punch.

North County in Lowry is awesome. The beer garden in Lowry has good burgers.

Kassai Sushi is great and surprisingly affordable.

Ok, I need some tips. Every year, I pick my son up from Camp in Cherry Creek (1st and Vine). I always want to offer him something really good, but it's on a Sunday. We drive North on Colorado to get to 25. Snooze is always too insane. Got any tips in that zone? He eats basically everything.

It will be about 1:00, so really anything you think is good at all. He will likely be craving some sort of ethnic food.

Swing Thai (Colorado & 8th) is decent but not amazing
Mici Italian (also Colorado & 8th) is good for pizza (that one is a new location and I haven't been there, but used to go to the one in Stapleton all the time)
Tacos Tequila Whiskey on Colfax has good tacos but I prefer North County (which is out of your way but not too far)
Tons of ethnic food along Colfax though I haven't tried most of the places

Go south. I know an Asian guy that will vouch for this Thai: https://goo.gl/maps/yFNYxH1m2AqzfSLA7

Oh - and Little Anita's is down there if the hankerin' tends toward New Mexican fare. I can vouch for their chile rellenos. Mmmm... rellenos.

Probably not what you are looking for but thread drift and uneducated opinions about questions that weren't asked is a staple of this place...

Spinellis is Park Hill for Italians

Sounds like the Park Hill version of Lakewood's Carmine Leonardo's.

They actually carry guanciale year around now... used to be a special-occasion meat there.

Spice Room on Colfax is just out of your way and has excellent Indian food.

Buy yourself a beer at Cerebral too.

If you go south to I25, Esters is a great neighborhood spot with a good variety. Bull & Bush is classic pub fare. Baghdad is also really good just S. of I25.

Mmmm... Bull & Bush. Used to be one of my go-to's for fish-n-chips.

Do you guys think it would be about the same to drive south to I 25 from 1st and Colorado? We always just drive north to 25 as it is the correct direction, but possibly not faster?

Nope - if you go south to I-25 you then have to run the downtown gauntlet. Going north you avoid *all* that horseshit.

That said, Little Anita's might be worth it.
