Poll: how many have attended a Summit…

Curious how many of the Padded room regulars have ever attended a Summit or met other mags in real life? I don’t mind going first, used to live in Colorado and attended a CornHarvest at LL once, met a bunch of mags. Have met a few others in person under various other circumstances. I’m working on a theory here. Please play along. A simple “nope” is fine.

Jackson, Tahoe, Utah, summer Hood, first BBI, I've been to a lot of "summits." I've met probably close to 200 people from here.

I've met a ton of people on here, plus some I knew IRL first who post(ed) here. Many no longer post, but the number is high enough that I couldn't possibly guess a number. I have been to a couple of "minis" but never to one of the big ones.

Have met a grand total of two mags IRL. No summits or mini-summits but I have every intention of making it happen one day when an opening in my busy injury schedule aligns with a summit.

The number of summits has dwindle significantly since bobby was taken out by the kraken.

I don’t know if the two things are connected but the Bobby worship around here was/is strange. BBI? Really?

Anyway, yeah been to a couple of Utah minis. Met a ton of people through here over the years. Still regularly see many of them.

edit to add. met alot of mags over the years not tied to a mini but just skiing or out on a tour. CO mags are divided in EPIC or IKON piles so not much cross pollination for those places, you get more variety when at neutral like AB, monarch, LL, silverton, WC, etc...

Attended some BBI UT activities a few years back, have since skied with folks I met for the first time there.

Have skied with quite a few other folks from the board, including some who have become long-term IRL friends. Some of my best BC partners have came from this goofy corner of the internets.

A-Basin and Winter Park Minis are good times, and several mags are in the "Ride Saturday?" rotation.
A Silverton Summit would be pretty epic. Which one of you Rich Uncle Pennybags is spotting a heli for the boys?

I consider myself irregular, but there was UT 2002 (scissor scrapings in Eagles Nest with Splat et al), Marshalls batch at Silverton (2005?) the Alpental BBIs, one BBI at JH and what, now, 3 EuroBBIs in Rueras, CH?
fwiw, possibly the longest TGR registered ongoing imposteur. (is Owens sleeping yet?)

    BTW, I didn't see a poll...

Waist Deep coached the MN Buck Hill Freestyle team when I was on it in high school. Only been to about 10 Epic/Pug/Ski Talk Mid Atlantic and informal meetups and gatherings, but definitely some east coast mag crossover there..

Yes, 2, they were a lot of fun and Mags IRL do not generally resemble their online persona.
I have been in this State for 30 years and I am willing to admit that I am part of the problem.

^^^ Results may vary. Spats was pretty much what I expected but still entertaining.

Nope. Wouldn't mind going to a mini in my neck of the woods sometime. My IRL meets were from ttips/overlap with NET, and only a few.

The bbi franchise was more about re-energising the need to summit than it was about 1 maggot. I've been here since 12' and the first summit I can recall was Alpental 16'. Solid contingent from Idaho - reps from kanukastan, cali, oregon, and the ever-present lot4 crew were so hospitable

    Definitely ignited a bunch subsequent

    Summits +3

made what are gonna be lifelong friends that I will go far out of the way for

so many maggots I'd like to ski with before I'm dust
