I don't have a sufficient level of existential dread or crushing ennui to start a proper official French Olympic thread.

I would like to officially propose that having only an unofficial TGR 2024 Olympics thread is officially about the most TGR-y way to do things.

    Let's just keep this one.

    Unofficially.

Flag Football, Baseball, Softball and Cricket added for 2028 LA Games.

I think this is great for a few reasons:

    1) Baseball and Softball will help raise the visibility of the sports and hopefully feed more interest into the WBC.

    2) Cricket is a massive sport that takes 2 weeks to play a match. This is a natural fit.

    3) The New York J E T S will have a shot at winning a gold medal.

Blows my mind I'm watching skateboarding in the Olympics. Pretty cool. Alyssa Real is a Brazilian phenom. As is ginwoo. Unreal what kids are doing these days...

So, the same as every other summer then?
Is that Lucas Oil Stadium pool temporary? That is crazy.
Also, shed a tear for Modern Penathlon which has been neutered once again so it can stay in the Olympics. This will be the last Olympics with equestrian/stadium jumping as an element of the sport. Going forward it will be replaced with a parcour/ninja style obstacle course.

Isn’t that kind of what horses already do in the pentathlon?

you're thinking of eventing or 3-day eventing, which consists of dressage on day 1, cross country on day 2, and stadium or show jumping on day 3 it by itself is one of the coolest sport in the Olympics/world

Equestrian events are probably the most money intensive activities outside of bribing IOC members for future games.

Could be, and they fight to stay in pretty much every go round. That being said they've been there since the beginning and I'd rather watch them than skateboarding and break dancing or whatever flash in the pan sport is in now.

Hey. Skateboarding is worlds more raw and legit than some rich entitled Nancy fucksticks dicking around and abusing horses for their clout.

    Time to debate event legitimacy?

Let’s bring back ballet skiing. Summer Games edition.

    Narrate that, Moseley.
