Messes up every ski area they touch... "I know let's buy another ski area!"

Does anyone have info on whether IKON taking over ski operations has any effects on the local real estate market? If, as everyone here says, IKON makes it worse for locals, how does selling to IKON benefit MKM when MKM retained a metric fuckton of real estate to sell? I mean...there are a LOT of lots out there at the base of the ski area, as far as I can tell.

I would guess it becomes more likely for people from big cities to buy place there. For example, Mammoth pass also unlimited at Schweitzer and easy non stop flight to GEG. More visitors, more likely to Airbnb.

^^ The more likely target market are Seattle skiers who already are aligned with Crystal and wish to spend more time at Schweitzer. Easy drive over for extended weekends at times when they want to escape Crystal. They can offset their costs by VRBO or whoever at times they don't/can't make the trip from home. But I'm sure MKM will sell real estate to whoever drops the cash in their laps.

The *crew* has been bugging us to visit Schweitzer every since they came to SV for the Hot Dog reunion. Perhaps Phil and I will make it up that way if we can squeeze more travel into our already crammed schedule. Just make sure the evil elf is ready for us
Sometimes you have to let your bad self ski...
