RIP
RIP
I see hydraulic turtles.
Wow. Flags in Cincinnati at half-staff today.
RIP Mr. Mayor.
I still call it The Jake.
In July 2000, he was on our connecting flight from Cleveland to LAX. The funny part was that I almost knocked him over before the flight. We both ran around a blind corner from opposite directions and collided. I didn't realize who it was, but he looked familiar so of course I'm staring at him like a fool. Later my wife pointed him out on the flight and laffed out loud when I told her the story.
Can’t remember which late night host asked him where he was running all the time on his show to which Jerry quipped “to the bank”
Always liked Jerry.
May he RIP.
He certainly had a big hand in dramatically lowering the bar of daytime TV content.
JERRY! JERRY! JERRY!
Which previously was wall-to-wall old-school soap operas. Gosh, oh well.
I didn't watch Springer a ton, but I was a fan. It was one of those TV shows that I watched as a guilty pleasure, and at some point it occurred to me that there was actually some quality to it. It was primarily a freakshow, of course. But it really did grapple with right versus wrong (invariably immersed in bad decisions by all involved), the show's moral center being the feisty audience ("y'all need to lose that ZEE-ro and get yourself a HEE-ro!").
He was a smart guy, and had been Cincinati's mayor. There was a point, after his show wound down, when there was talk about him running for Congress; what a badly missed opportunity for US history.
Well there were the cartoons as well…I miss Rocky & Bullwinkle
Seemed like every episode I saw devolved into women in a hair-pulling fight.
how the hell are all those kids without dads suppose to find of who their real dad is out of 9 suspects ?
Nice crab walk.
watch out for snakes
His best part was at the end where he gave his thoughts on what the show had exposed.
Thank you Sir Jerry Springer.
watch out for snakes
That was always some real shit at the end where you could tell Jerry had a good heart imo
The other good part was Steve of course head locking chumps
His show was pretty great in the early days. Towards the end it got a bit ridiculous. Geraldo may have been the first to do that style of show, but Jerry perfected it for sure. RIP
