reCAPTCHA link to allow Outlook to retrieve gmail

there used to be a link so that if you were trying to let Outlook fetch your gmail with a new wifi connection and recaptcha verification blocked it, it would allow it. I can't find that link anymore- anyone know where to find it?

(I do know not to do this on a public wifi, but sometimes it even happens with my own phone's hotspot in a new location)

The first question is whom supplies the Captcha challenge- Google?? Of course you can't get that captcha within Outlook. Second question is why in the heck would you be using Outlook for GMail?

yes Google. I find the web interface for gmail so counter-intuitive, whereas I like all my emails individually downloaded and chronologically sorted. If there is something better than Outlook to do that I'm certainly open to it.

If you have to have an email client and not the Google Web or desktop notifications, then maybe try Thunderbird. I assume you are doing Imap setup?

Google has increased its security settings for less secure apps. If the account is an organization, the level of security may be determined by your admin. You will likely need to go to your account security settings to enable 2FA and then generate a unique passcode for the client that you're using under "manage third-party access."

The Google mailbox can be configured to a sequential non-threaded presentation of your mail. Most people have adapted to some sort of priority mailbox so the algorithm will sort out the junk and threading is so much better than Re: re: re:...........
