Signs that your boot liners are shot

My toes are sore across their tops and it feels like I am getting a bunion on my left big toe after skiing a big day. It has happened the last 3 days I have went. I wonder if the liners are worn out. They are Lange RX120 in 25.5 and are snug (1/2" shell fit). I haven't experienced any issues in these boots for the last 2 seasons (this is my third season in these boots).
    Are my liners worn out?

    odds are yes

    signs liners are done:

    1) 100 days on the boots
    2) foot moving around and it didn't before
    3) Cold feet (and was not cold before)

    intuitions

    zip fit

foam (only if the store does a lot, so have experiance and fresh foam)

Funny you mention cold feet. My feet have felt cold more this season than before. I am a tight wad though, I saw NOS Lange liners on Ebay for $60.00. I will try that route before dropping serious money on Zip Fits.

    how many days?

intuitions can be a good (cheaper) option

shops that do a lot of aftermarket liners might have some NOS liners avail cheap too.

It has been exceptionally cold this season, so I chalked up cold feet to cold weather. I would guess I have noticed cold feet 6 or 7 days this season. Mostly within the past month or so.

When you move away from cotton based stock liners you will never go back. I would make the move to an intuition liner ASAP and you will get more performance, comfort, and a ton more warmth.

If I were to go the Intuition route. What model is the consensus best? I have huge calves and was look at the FX Race and HD Race (I don't think I would like a wrap liner), but was a little put off by the comments that they could make up space for skinny calved folk.

my AT liners are 10 yrs old but I got such a good/ close shell-fit that they still seem OK

they were always really tight so tight after 3 or 4 years i got them re- molded by the Intutition folks in Vangroovy, Tom the man said I did not need new liners

So IME what kind of shell fit you got is important to how long an Intuition last

mine were very carefully fitted by checking mondo 24 on-line at sports conrad

i seem to have the foot of a god, either Mercury or Vulcan

Fair on the terminology, as liners are now synthetic and cheaper foam for the most part (outside of high end) - the term "cotton liner" is what I always heard from boot fitters for stock liners... Point was more that most stock liners are largely inferior from the ones the OP was referencing.

I picked up a pair of Intuition Rosso Descente liners off of Ebay for $125.00 US. According to Motion and Flow, the liners are a Dream Liner that are RED!

Skied my new liners today. They have a little more volume than the stock Lange liners, so I had to adjust buckles. I haven’t baked the liners, and after today I don’t think it will be necessary. Nice snug fit, just like the boots were brand new and my toes aren’t sore. You guys were right! Intuitions really are worth the price.

Glad to hear it! Baking them will only give more space or less volume. They will form to your feet after 5-10 days anyway. If you need more volume after that you can get a footbed inert to out under the liner (I did this after ~50 days).
