So I wrecked this weekend and bent my bars. What's the best Ti bar or is there another better/cooler option? These were general aluminum bars. Figured if i need to replace, get something cool, 800mm or about would be great. Thoughts?

I got a custom one from Oddity Cycles a few years ago for my SS, and it's been flawless in that application.
I have the thomson froma few years ago. Pm if you want it or pocs and more details. Cost of shipping.

Just as an aside, I get a pretty good deal on Ti stuff and I think Carbon bars are better just because of the damping. Ti bars are kind of bouncy, (for lack of a better word). My 2 mountain bikes have Ti bars because I’ve said deal, but my road bike definitely has carbon.

If you're down with some make-your-eyes-bleed expensive artisanal bullshit here's a few people making titanium options. Remember, the weeks to months long anticipation building wait is a feature, not a bug.

If you still want to prove that you're an independent thinker bucking industry norms but you don't think you have it in you to spray about the underappreciated dampening characteristics of titanium, this guy makes some handsome bars in good old steel. I think he has a non-klunker style in the works.

^^^ nice call on that steel shit. Really nice.
just buy more or less whatever was on there that you can get a deal on and don't wreck, its a piece of pipe for phucksake

Thanks for pics Laps. Those are pretty nice bars, and plus for the karma offer of free. Going to be too short for what i'm used to, so a pass.

Either get cheap bars you can replace relatively painlessly, or get carbon bars (and a torque wrench). Modern MTB carbon is more impact resistant than aluminum (or it is at about the same weight). Seriously, carbon makes Ti obsolete.
Or you could stop beatering it in like a Jerry. Your body will thank you.
Thank you stuckatdrphil. However you may be right, on the several points brought up.
Roost bars and stem, fair dinkum mate
Well, what I’ve done is figured out the exact size of bar I wanted, in other words, the amount of rise, and the width, then shop for known brands of carbon bars, and look for one on sale

i know what i need, the rise i want and the rest. Just trying to figure out how to waste a couple hundred bucks on handle bars, the cost of a walmart bike. Wanted to be a thread starter.
OneUP are tickling my ivories right now,

I also like the oneup bars over the Chromag and Santa Cruz I’ve had in the past.

SCB are pretty much the same price, and lifetime warranty. Seems an extra, easy 10 bucks for the peace of mind.
But ultimately i think i'm likeing the renthal fatcarb.
Depends on the stem, ultimately.

Get a CDI (makes them for Snap On) torque wrench. They make one that's like 2 N-m - 9 N-m which is perfect for all the delicate stuff. I got one after my Pro Tools (Shimano) torque wrench snapped a couple bolts despite using the spec'd torque.
