Thanks for the advice Greg and Golden. Will have to balance my odds of fucking up the punch vs the odds of this boot ultimately working for me if I succeed.

The boa is a bit slower than buckles. A non issue for me when putting the boot on, less than 10 seconds maybe 5? Slightly annoying each lift ride but worth it for the fit advantage imo

Looks like I'm gonna have to order the liner blind. Foot size is US 10 EU 43. Based on that, Zipfit recommended the 27.5 - but I'm not sure how it will fit in the shell. For what it's worth, toes are definitely stuffed at the end of the stock liner. It's manageable for me, but not what most would consider reasonable for a boot with a walk mode. It's fine when skiing.
To follow up: 27.5 GFT fit my foot length pretty much spot on. Liner fits in the size 26.5 130 Ultra XTD BOA without issue. Thanks to those who chimed in!

Two people I’ve spoken to say the last is a little wider than the outgoing xtd (grilamid) and Hawx ultra. Anybody agree or disagree?

other people can get into the technicalities around the last/plastic but in my experience there is more room in the toe box now. I could not wear the previous version but now they fit exactly like my regular hawx.

I've previously had both and now on Boa. XTD had the narrowest toe box out of 3, BOA is the tallest and generally not so tapered. Ultra S was somewhere in between. The last width feels pretty much the same. I had stock liners in all 3 with the same insoles and usually don't need to do any work on the shells.

have the outgoing ultra xtd 130 and the new boa. I’d agree it doesn’t feel quite as snug in the mid- to forefoot. But it’s not a massive difference.

For reference I didn’t have to do any work to the old ones, so my sensitivity may not be as high as others.
