Removing a 50 year old furnace Help

I need to install my new furnace. I have cur out the gas line that stuck up through the old one.
I cannot get get the old one out. thing it's bolted to the floor.
Does anyone have any experience with this> How do I break it loose?



One more bathroom side I removed the cant budge the thing with a breaker bar

Damn. I'm far from an HVAC pro, but if it were me I'd be looking at disassembling the cabinet walls around it to gain better access, starting with the outside one. Is there really any reason for them?

It looks like there isn't much of anything permanent on the outside of it to impede you..

Any idea what's behind the particle board to the right?

Power line and Thermostat controls - I have that covered for the new one.
When it's done the Furnace needs to be enclosed in Drywall - It's a code thing.
I just can't this fucker loose. I getting ready to just slice it into peices

So, yeah, need to remove bottom front panel somehow and get at the bolts. Is the return air from below or the side? Never seen a residential furnace bolted to floor. With bolts you couldn’t get at easily. May need to widen the walls a little to meet code. Possibly more room in front as well. Not sure what code you are operating under.

Never seen a furnace/heavy boiler ever bolted down. Have you disconnected the supply and return plenums?

Pro tip, the tape for gas connections is different than the plumbing tape for water connections..

MTT, go see if you can get a thermal lance over at Harbor Freight.

It;s a heater for a mobile home. Its siting on a big opening that goes out through the venting underneath.

As for the gas line that was fun. Since I am also running a gas line for my new GAS DRYER I installed a pretty slick setup underneath
I put shutoff valves for each line underneath. so I can work on them separately at my leisure without having to turn the gas off to the entire place again. "Gas Tape and Pipe Dope" Not fucking around
It will be it's own TR at some point
Problem is I'm just not up to crawling under the /trailer again right now. But I need that heater out.
My cutting tool of choice is the Milwaukee M20 Grinder
Amyway Already cut the vent pipe on top rather than remove the whole thing from above

So I bought a new GAS Dryer
And when I get off my lazy ass and finish the hookup life will be good
The 1000$. Dryer is just sitting there
I came home to that. The flame proof sound dampening insulation has already paid for itself

That looks pretty close to having gone up in flames!

Just make sure you have a CO detector somewhere... incase the vent work on either unit is not up to snuff.

Why replace the dryer just for that, though?

I was able to get the lower panel out. I can see clear to the dirt. No screws or bolts. Looks like epoxy.
Anyway. It’s still not out but I got the grinder out

It's not epoxy, it is mastic to seal the furnace to the floor ductwork.
