    Festivals

Out on Hornby Is for 10days. Enjoying baked oysters in the afternoon after a mtb and swim. Then catching festival shows in the evening. So far we’ve enjoyed OKAN, I am the Living, and tonight the whole family shook their tail feathers to Five Alarm Funk. Great turnout and energy. Caught them at Salmon Arm a couple years ago, and really enjoyed seeing them again at a much smaller venue (doubled the population of Hornby for the weekend though). Looking forward to catching Ndidi O later this week. The Locals are fabulous hosts!

Now it’s a whiskey nightcap by the fire ring. What a great breather in the middle of the summer from work.

Ya, even a small puffer near homes or infrastructure is hit fast now. Cell tower above Little Fort (Hwy5 & 24 jct) had a fire (cause under investigation), was actioned very fast and is now contained. Local FB back home was ablaze for a few hours though. Watching a small wildfire smoke on the mainland across the strait from Hornby right now. Being actioned according to BCWS, but nothing immediately threatened.
