Looking at French Polynesia for a honeymoon this coming fall.
Did that 15 years ago (Tahiti, Moorea and Huahine) and it was incredible. I’m sure things are a bit different these days, but the overall vibe is probably similar. I highly recommend it.

Did you meet Moses in Fiji? Legit question.

I went a long time ago. The water is clear but there are really no beaches. Some cool scenery I guess. If you sail or scuba it’s probably cool. I have no interest in going back.

I did not, no. Google tells me he’s a rugger.

We were there during the World Cup, including quarter finals. Those people sure do love their rugby. It was entertaining.

Awesome, thanks Steve. I may hit you up for some advice if we get past the initial research phase.

I've been to Fiji a couple times- it's awesome. I think that we like the idea of French Polynesia because it's new to both of us.

Seems like there are some islands other than Tahiti and Bora Bora that do have beaches, but they are further out?

Interesting, where were you? My gf is going to Tahiti for a weeklong swim camp this summer.

I went for a swim camp too.

We stayed in Papeete and visited Morea. Morea was pretty nice. Awesome beach and warm clear water. So, from that perspective the outer islands are nice.

Was in moorea in Aug/Sept and loved it. It's humpback whale season as well. Decent surf. Diving was good. Excellent snorkeling.

The Moses I met gave me an amazing 8hr layover in Fiji. I left the airport to get a glimpse of the island. Moses approached me and asked me what I wanted to do. I said food and beer. He then proceeded to be my tour guide and party mate for the day. Honestly, that 8 hours was more fun than my 6 weeks prior in New Zealand. Even the taxi driver spent the day with us and we all raged hard. Surprisingly the taxi driver kept it on the road on our way back to the airport.

    Oh, to be foolish again.
