    Marker Jester AFD Height

Curious if anyone has some knowledge on setting the adjustable AFD height on Marker Jester/ Jester Pro bindings. This is on the newest (3rd) version but I believe should be similar for the second as well.

In the binding box they come with a paper that says the AFD is preset for grip walk and ISO 5355 (should not need adjustment). It also says in the manual that for 5355 and grip walk the AFD should be adjusted to the higher position, and the lower position for touring norm.

Lastly the bindings come with a piece of paper folded in half. The idea is to place the folded paper between the boot sole and AFD and step the boot in. From my understanding, when AFD is correctly adjusted, one half of the paper should slide out. The paper should not rip or have the whole folded paper slide out.

What confuses me is that the bindings say they are preset to 5355, but to get the paper trick to work as described, I have to lower the AFD a bunch. This seems odd to me as they should be pretty close to preset for the 5355 sole??

Hopefully that all makes sense. Would appreciate anyone who has worked with these or in a shop a bit more!

I wouldn't trust what ever is "preset". I haven't installed this specific version, but my method would be the same as any binding with an adjustable AFD.
    -lower afd
    -set forward pressure
-pull against the "shin" of the boot to pull the toe up
-raise afd until it just barely touches the boot. It can slide freely but the boot doesn't wiggle
-check forward pressure, adjust if needed
-push down on boot, pull back up on boot, make sure afd is in a good spot
-repeat previous 2 steps until you're not adjusting anymore
    -SKI
