Anybody catch the Braves game last night? Rookie for the Brewers, Sal Frelick, had himself a night.

Kid goes 3 for 3 and hits a sac fly that scores the go ahead run in the 8th in his first start after getting called up from AAA.

He made two amazing back to back catches in the outfield too. One was up against the wall, not quite “robbed” but it would have hit the yellow line and fallen fair had he not grabbed it. Fun to watch even as an opposing fan.

He had another pretty good day on Sunday although the Braves managed to pull off the series win. Damn there are a ton of young and talented players in MLB this year. It was great last night to watch his family watch him make his MLB debut and be the star.

Kiké Hernandez back to the Dodgers apparently. LA and Boston are basically each others’ farm teams at this point.

Yesterday was apparently the anniversary of the George Brett Pine Tar Incident, which, from watching the ballgame last night, I was a bit disheartened to hear that many of the players (outside Tito, Sandy Alomar and DeMarlo Hale et al on the staff) weren't familiar with it. Huh?

Look, I get not knowing about plenty of history, and I was like 5 or so when it happened, but wasn't this part of the hilarious history of baseball and mandatory reading for all pros?

It’s the second-most iconic George Brett moment.

Brett was my favorite player growing up til I met Bo Jackson in an elevator in Anaheim.

I think the young players were too traumatized by the history chapter featuring Robin Ventura & Nolan Ryan.

That’s fucking hilarious. All of it. They’re just so casual talking about it.

Holy crap that’s funny. And it’s in the middle of everybody trying to warm up and stretch and stuff but he’s got to tell his story

Rain delay here has me watching Mets-Yankees from the Stadium. According to what is says on the wall, August 4 is Bucky Dent bobblehead night. Apparently because nothing else noteworthy has happened to the Yankees for 45 years. Bucky Dent bobblehead night?? Weak.

Braves pull off a triple play in the 3rd after getting screwed in the 1st by the umpires.

    Incredible.

And here I thought Aaron Civale’s 1-4-3 double play while looking back the runner at 3rd would be the web gem of the night.

Yu Chang is such a bad baserunner. He’s run into like three outs this week and has failed to advance on like three other occasions he should have.

The Guardos gift to the league.

I can’t figure out the ruling in the first. Ball clearly wasn’t a catch. They acted like the second out on Riley was at third after the play. Why didn’t the run count? Hopefully there was a presser and someone pushed for an answer.

    8-3-5 was sick.

I was baffled as well. Ump called it a no catch then changed the ruling without a replay. Weird.

    Sox looked pretty good.

So were all of us at the game, no explanation at all.

Trading Kike on PR night was an odd choice....

Red Sox and Dodgers both showed they are play off contenders last night.

Once we hit the TGR megajillions, my path to MLB franchise ownership will be set.

In all seriousness it will be fun to buy a few shares and then take the best parking spot in the Delta Deck waiving off the attendant telling them "it's ok, I'm an owner" as I walk off.
