Playoff seeding is a joke as usual, easy on ramp for the Astros (sorry Twins) while Rays and O's have to face each other.

Rays should have faded with all their injuries, but they’ve hung tough
I don’t think it’s a bad metric by any means. I just think it’s one of many now.
With so many more ways to take in a game (live, tv, stream, radio, etc), never mind the availability of competing options for fans entertainment dollars, it’s just not a full picture.
You’re right though in my mind, if you love the team, show up.
I still call it The Jake.
It’s Angel so there’s no saying what he was thinking, but I would guess he wasn’t really paying attention and just made a call. And that is 100% on him, the home plate ump can’t see from there. I wish I could get away with being as bad as my job as Angel is at his. He has to be one of the few people in the world that the courts have verified that he is very shitty as his job.
Hours after losing tonight's match, Jays clinch a wildcard spot. Damn this game is weird. Wouldn't want it any other way!
Fuck, Wakefield is gone. I’m a Yankee fan and I always liked watching him pitch. He had a great relationship with that organization and they took care of each other.
RIP.

And as a Sox fan, I say fuck Curt Schilling forever.
RIP Wake. Fuck Curt for trying to keep you from dying in peace. Wake was a class act, and he will be forever missed. Hope they retire his number.
Yeah, so sad to lose Wake. It seems like it happened really fast. Cora said he saw him mid-September and he seemed fine.
Twins over Brewers in 7 btw.

Well that was a regular season for the ages. Brave's tied the Twins 2019 HR record and if Rosario had gotten 3 more inches on a double off the right field wall they would have passed it.
On to the post season.
I have been in this State for 30 years and I am willing to admit that I am part of the problem.

A few really big retirements happened yesterday:
Miguel Cabrera, who along with Zack Greinke are the last two active players to have faced the Expos. If Greinke doesn't play again then that will be it.
Joey Votto (not officially retired, but likely) played all 16 years of his career with one team, the Reds, which ended with an ejection yesterday for arguing balls and strikes. If that's how it ends, that's a weird way to go out.
Tito. I've said my peace on the man, but a very quiet 5-2 loss to the Tigers on a sunny afternoon in Detroit seems like the low key exit Terry wanted (unlike the emotional big send off he got in CLE last week). 11 years, 1 AL Pennant, 5 Division Titles, 1 22-game win streak, and a whole heck of a lot of fun.

I haven't been keeping up with baseball since football season started. Who wants to give me a quick playoff overview? Who is winning AL?

AL is really tough to predict. Anyone but the Twins is my best guess.

I bet he comes back for another year, though maybe not for the Reds. I’d love him as a bench guy for the Dodgers making a couple million a year.
Btw what a veteran move by the Astros to not get drunk after game 161 like the Rangers did. The Rangers played hungover, took the L, and now get to go to Tampa instead of getting the bye. Meanwhile the Astros did a champagne toast, got the W, and get to sit and wait out the winner of Toronto and Minnesota.
Past seasons I felt confident about the Blue Jays' chances and they blew it. This year I feel sketchy AF, so they'll probably go all the way.
I think it’s the Braves’ to lose at this point, but their bats will have to stay hot for another month.
AL seems like more of a crap shoot but I just hope it’s not Houston.
Braves, as amazing as they've been, haven't exactly played their best ball down the closing stretch with series losses to St. Louis, Marlins, Philly and Washington.

I think it would be fun to have the O's in the ALCS. Getting tired of the Rays/Astros.

Oh. I kinda checked out the last couple of weeks on most of the baseball stuff. That’s honestly probably better for them cause they just have to GET hot. Which is always an option.
Yeah. O’s or Twins would be fun. We need some new blood in there.

O's Braves would be my preference for a WS.
Texas sure would like to show off that fancy new stadium on a national level though.

Have a 15-1 future on Philly to win the NL. Let’s gooo Philly (going to drink bleach for uttering those words).
Hope they retire Wakefields #. And throw Wade Boggs 26 back into circulation.
Decisions Decisions
Obviously the Reds weren't going to extend him, but I think I'd be surprised if he signs on somewhere else. He's refused to waive his trade clause plenty of times over the years because he said he always wanted to play for one team. He can still play of course, and he's a pro's pro and any team would be lucky to have him on the roster with his experience, I just don't know if it happens.
