And just like that Guardos front office genius Chris Antonetti is rumored to be at the top of the Sox' list.

Look, I'm gonna be honest, I don't think I can handle losing Tito as Manager and Antonetti as President of Baseball Operations (GM) at the same time.
I still call it The Jake.

He’s done well for y’all. The key to the success for Boston is ownership loosening the purse strings a little bit.

Red Sox fans have some funny opinions.
Thats up there with JD Martinez isnt good anymore.

True you had the biggest payroll in 18 when you won it but a few years of being top 3 for a few years didnt lead to another and since its not like you are the Pirates & Rays seem to do aOK. http://www.stevetheump.com/Payrolls.htm#2022_payroll

Maybe Bloom can present Mookie with the NL MVP this year.

I'm a little surprised it's Bloom and not Cora who got the ax but I don't think AC is safe.

Alex “We stole that [expletive] World Series,” Cora will never be safe as long as Dodgers fans have weapons.

If Kershaw doesnt get in the HOF due to " post season numbers" he sleeps with the fishes

She is fucking horrible. She must have pictures of George Steinbrenner dressed up in a sheep outfit taking it up the butt to have kept the job.

I honestly don’t know one baseball fan that wouldn’t put Kershaw in on the first ballot. In the spirit of Mitt Romney retiring, I would be willing to bet $10,000 that he will make it in in his first year.

I also wish Dodgers fans would join me in letting 2017 go. Yeah they cheated, but I just don’t give a shit anymore. Kershaw got his ring in 2020 and has a chance at another, it’s time to move on. And this is coming from a fan that spent an exorbitant amount of money when the Astros came to Dodgers Stadium in 2021 to join in the “Fuck Altuve” chants.

I feel a little foolish after the Phillies manager accused Acuna of over-celebrating.

This is what they need right now, something to fire them up.

The fucking ski gioogles and champagne should be WS only. The pennant is just a ticket punched to watch the show.

On another note, holy shit, Luis Arraez can hit a baseball no matter where it is in relation to the strike zone.

    word.
A bit disappointed in my Dodgers for the celebrations in Seattle.
OOOh ANOTHER NL West pennant and all of one ring to show for it.

Good to see Kersh tossing 0s again and our rookies are sick

Cubbies/Dbacks today. Who would have thunk this game would have playoff implications?

One of the two of us is going to have to fuck the Phillies up, but I see another great series in our future.

They will make my blood boil in the series, but I have a ton of respect for the Dodgers squad. Adding Freddie Freeman makes it feel like they have a family member over there.

Who else is on Team Mookie for MVP?

I just took a dive and a half season of middle infield kind of swayed me. Acuna is a fine right fielder, but Mookie is plus and is versatile. Meanwhile the Braves are also stacked with Olson approaching 60 home runs, and the Dodgers have only lost their stars over the years. But, it's a tough choice this year.

I'd still start a team with Acuna at 25 and not Mookie at 30. Maybe he'll get his next year? Seems like that's how this MVP stuff kind of goes.

Sounds like the Rays are getting their new $1.2B stadium, which means MLB can now turn its sights to expansion.

    SLC? Nashville?

    Portland? Charlotte?

Also, it’s insane how loaded the Braves’ offense is.

“The 2023 Atlanta Braves are now only the 2nd team in Major League Baseball history to have five players with thirty or more home runs, as Albies joins Matt Olson (a MLB-leading 51), Ronald Acuña Jr (37), Austin Riley (36), and Marcell Ozuna (34) with thirty or more homers.”

Mookie will always be the MVP in my heart.

But it think Acuña will get it cause the 60/30 thing got a lot of hype.

I'm so glad that the Rays are staying in St. Pete. That was like the only reason to go to a Rays game. Grab a beer and a Cuban, then walk over to see a mid team in a crumbling dome.

Acuna is a true 5 tool player, so is Betts. Acuna may reach 70/40, that is MVP level work.

I could see the MVP going either way. Both are deserving.

It will be interesting to see how many Bravos get to 40 HR. Only 11 games left.

    Both Freeman and Betts?
    You are right
Freddie Freeman is the first player in MLB history with 25+ HRs, 55+ doubles and 20+ stolen bases in the same season but only played one position, so I go with Betts.

It would be interesting if Olson and Acuna split some votes as well as Betts and Freeman.

Speaking of the Dodgers, I came across this video which was kind of entertaining except when you have to see or hear Bauer:

Gagne says he agreed to only throw one offspeed pitch to Bonds. the other day when Stanton got #400 Cole came out and said that on the only homerun he has given up to Stanton, G had begged him for fastballs in the zone to help break out of a slump and he obliged.

How much of this stuff happens behind the scenes?

That 0-2 looked like a strike from my seat, and as a fan it's hard to imagine why he wouldn't drop another offspeed pitch (especially that changeup) if he was sitting on fastballs. Something about it bothers me, like when Aroldis gave Altuve 25 fastballs in a row.

    Guess we know why now.

BTW, is Gagne the best player to come out of Quebec? He's pretty good.

If those were the only stats that mattered, yes.
I wish there was some way to measure how many more wins a team would have with a player over his replacement....

Alright, Vlad Jr was born in Montreal. He's pretty good. Kind of trending down at 24 but he could play first for a lot of teams.
