    Faction Dancer Mount Point Help!

Just picked up a pair of Faction Dancers 182CM on sale and I’m stoked (apart from the dumb name)

Wondering if anyone has experience mounting this ski or the Dictator at either at “progressive” (-9.25CM) or “new school” (-7.75CM) lines? I prefer “new school” but not if it fucks up carving performance which I’ve experience before when pushing things too forward.

Blister is pretty vague in their assessment of mount points so I thought I would check in with the TGR crew. Thanks!

Following cause I just ordered a pair of Dictator 3s. I have not skied them so can't offer any input unfortunately.

Progressive if you do any sort of slashing / sideways skiing. If you keep it low to the ground and just want to carve go with the classic. I even have my agents mounted at progressive with tech bindings.

I would say progressive. Skiing all my agents at progressive (some older ones even further forward) with tech bindings and would not have it any other way. So if you do any sort of slashes as stated before, let your tails loose on a deep carve or like a more agile ski that wants to drive a turn mount on progressive

Apart from the name change, are the Dancers much different than the CT’s?

Dancer is the Dictator replacement and Mana is the CT replacement. Just top sheet(and name) changes on both compared to the 22 versions. The 22 CT and 23 Mana the same shape but lighter builds than the 21 CT.

As others have mentioned, you usually mount any Faction ski now depending on use and your preferred stance. If you are a traditional skier always driving the tips of your skis and want to maximize float and stability? Classic mount.
More of a playful skier with a neutral stance only who wants the easiest ski to pivot and likes to be in the air? Newschool
Someone who wants to be able to ski centered or drive a ski and wants a more fun all mountain performance without sacrificing much, go Progressive.

The Dictator/Dancer are more directional than the CT/Mana lines and the mounts more traditional, so I’d say unless you are REALLY a “always driving the ski” type of skier, the Progressive mount is a very safe bet.

I have mine mounted at the progressive and REALLY like them there. Like to be driven, but easy to release. Its a great balance. I typically have skis in the -6.5 to -10 range. It may be different for you if you have skis that are more center mounted.

Something to keep in mind, Dancer mount points moved forward from Dictator mount points which were quite traditional, ie. classic was about 12-13cm back from centre. Now, Classic moved up to Progressive, Progressive moved to New School, and so on. The new Progressive should be about 9 or so back from centre.

Ask my 24yro where he mounted his 21/22 Dictator 3.0's and he sent a pic.

He's mounted similar to the Candide line on the CT2.0, looks pretty damn forward imo (-6cm?) but he comes from a strong racing background and for sure skis faster than me now and also spins and gets inverted. He's super stoked on the all mtn performance of the dictator vs the various CT 2.0 and CT3.0's he's been riding the last ~4yrs and no complaints with being that far forward. Guessing he'll be somewhere similar on the dictator 4.0 as well.

I’d also mount progressive. Different ski, but the Candide skis were perfect on his line.
