    Jetforce Saga (1.0) Issues

Has anyone had the flashing red light on their Jetforce Saga? I stored it a 3 bars over the summer and just pulled it out and it's giving me the flashing red light and won't deploy.

Troubleshooting guide says to disconnect the battery, but I'm not sure how to do that. Anyone know? Seems like I would have to unscrew the housing. Hopefully can make this thing work again...not sure if BD is still servicing them but looks expensive.

Hey, I had this too at the start of last season. I just lost warranty and BD honored it as they said it likely happened over the summer when my warranty ended. They replaced the battery and updated the software. If you hadn't had the software updated, the long storage mode seemed to deplete the battery, even when trickle charging. If you are not under warranty, they should be able to charge you for the update. Best of luck!

Also, did you check to see if you are on the recall list? Your bag may have been recalled in the past! If you don't have proof of purchase, you could be SOL.

When I got the bag back, I sold it to a Mag with new battery and software but no warranty. Upgrade the friend and buy a new bag with warranty. I love the Saga. It is the best airbag made so far. Now that LiTric Gen 1 is cancelled, I supposed the new AlpRide system will catch up more-or-less. I am hopeful we get an updated JetForce Pro system next year that doesn't sacrifice it's advantages to lose weight.

Nice to know, I bought this second hand, I'll have to see if I can source the receipt. In the end, I charged it overnight and it seems to be working now? I guess the battery balance got out of whack somehow. Good to know on the recalls and such though.

Yes, to disconnect the battery, you have to unscrew two Phillips head screws. I don't think the manual makes this clear.

It sounds like you got your problem sorted out, but just in case anyone else has similar issues with dead battery that cannot be fixed by disconnect/reconnect or overnight charge, I wrote a brief guide describing how to rebuild dead 11490 battery with new cells

Awesome thanks for the info! I figured this could be done, glad you made the plunge.
