More content: Any idea why Haley Batten didn’t ride today? I’m guessing the smaller field and wet track resulted in her not there?

I get that I follow a couple local kids in a niche sport, but darn I find myself wanting more updates from her and Kegan.

Blevins put up his best short track year to date.

The weather factor was a bummer, but it seems like the top 10 qualifiers had good conditions.

Fun race. Daprela's run was bonkers. The mid-run two handed finger shake out was hilarious, and that dude is entertainingly loose.

Jackson's run was super fun to watch too. It's cool that both he and Jordan already have wins this year. The next couple years of racing are gonna be awesome.

Three races, three first time winners! The next generation is here.
How ‘bout Daprela’s save? That was all time!

ETA: the commentary offers nothing. They have zero insight. I get a chuckle every time we see the splits several seconds before the commentators.

Racing has been great this year, still not totally sure on qualys/semis/finals. I've been tapping +10s between riders on semis and really only watching the top 10 women and 30ish mens runs, then I watch the whole shebang on finals. It's a lot of racing for sure. GCN+/ESO coverage has been good in terms of video quality (razor sharp 4K every time, RBTV was variable and only up to 1080p), seemingly more camera angles, the drone which works OK etc.

Negatives are obviously the commentary. Ric and Cedric know the sport and the riders, Ric has some good insights he throws in fairly regularly about bike setup and other bits of trivia, but Cedric who is supposed to have the WCDH racer experience just offers nothing besides annoying excited phrases over and over. Other negative I've noticed is the outside of race coverage sucks compared to RBTV. Race Tapes, Fast Life, the Eliot Jackson post-race summary videos, interviews etc. are non-existent or very weak compared to previous seasons.

Cool to see a guy that looks like he could be a serious roadie win a DH, is Jackson the lightest ever winner of a WC? His bike looked perfectly tuned, that was fun watch.

We watched the first RedbullTV “Beyond the Line” show tonight. It’s an hour and a quarter of commentary, analysis, and interviews with Rob, Elliot, and now Emily Batty. I think I’ll add it to the rotation.

Ben Cathro’s post-race videos are worth watching, too.

I've seen the hype shows for it, maybe we'll throw it on this weekend.

Went up to watch US XC MTB Nationals at Bear Creek today. Plenty of good coverage floating around, but pro women’s very quickly became 2 woman race. Got to say I lost a little bit of respect for Kate Courtney, in the lead she had a crash and then really blocked Savilia with her bike which appeared to some of us as on purpose. Rubbing is racing and part of racecraft, but wasn’t huge fan of that move when Salvia rode it clean.

Men’s race Blevins just absolutely rode away w it. Pretty techy rock filled XC course and from the area we watched he was noticeably smoother and faster than his competitors. Wasn’t surprised in the least. Fun event and was great spectating at my home turf tiny ski area.

One of my racing buddies won Singlespeed nationals yesterday. Pretty cool that few of my buddies now sporting stars and bars.

Heber Utah dominates the lifetime series!! First in womens and mens. I went out and did a century on gravel yesterday in their honor and I have to say, single track is more fun.

Keegan and Sophia live in Heber. Winter in Phoenix area. They won the Crusher in the Tushar Saturday. I did a bigger day of Gravel on Saturday on one of the kids hardtails. It affirmed that I would rather ride the mountain bike. Sorry for my cryptic and poorly worded post. I’m used to only talking to my inner voices.

Live check in from Crankworx Whistler.

The new 1199 DH course in is incredible. Huge drops and booters, rowdy rock faces and steep roots fall line in the old growth. Even a couple off camber steep grass corners. I’m really intrigued to see how it looks on the live stream. Very dry and dusty. Deep pockets of moon dust in the natural corners. It’s a new course so it’s changing fast as it gets ridden in.

The videos don’t do justice to how gnarly it is. There’s a bunch of red bull cameras littered around. It looks a couple of the critical sections won’t be on the stream but I guess that’s always the case.

Some World Cup guys and girls and a lot of quick dark horses. Finn and Vali are flying in practice. The Pivot guys look quick too. I haven’t seen Jackson take a run yet.

    Quails tomorrow, race Sunday.

That track looks awesome. Watched remy's video of it. It'll be interesting to see how it holds up - looks awfully dry.

Stoked to see how Asa Vermette does this weekend. Loose and dry is like our home turf here in DGO.

The course is “close” to a ski run, and trail crew have run snowmaking hoses down pretty much the entire track. It’s getting watered in places so it’s not as dry as it could be. But the ground is really dry so the watering doesn’t last long

Warning, the commentary is horrible and they're currently showing the most boring parts of the track.

    Thanks for the link!
Pretty stoked for that guy. Legit best rider on the mountain today! Cool that the one guy who’s been saying he’s gonna win soon was standing right next to him on the podium!

Keegan Swenson is on another planet for performance. 17 minutes off of his FKT on the Leadville 100. Sophia showing consistency too on the women’s side. Can’t wait to see some highlights!!

They said he had a 42 up front? That had to be a 2 ring set up?
