Some crazy cheap offerings but looks sketchy
Fox Factory 36 for $89? Clearly that's just a great deal. Should probably buy a couple of them.
Seems you can get any fork you want for $90. Just because you found one item close to reality doesn't make it a reliable source...
It's so bad my IT guy just came up here and slapped me in the face for just trying to visit that site.
Back in the day I knew a kid who sold bike parts on-line, he became a dealer for a couple of small brands of frame, he actualy did quite well
I say kid cuz he was my sons 14yr old buddy
it would appear almost anyone can sell parts on line
Lee Lau - xxx-er is the laziest Asian canuck I know
These websites keep popping up. I post a variant of this every few years.
How To Spot Scam Retail Websites
1. Are the prices on EVERYTHING ridiculously low? Sometimes legit retailers will blow out an item or two, but no legit retailer will sell everything for far below distributor cost. (This site fails.)
2. Do they sell products that aren't allowed to be sold via mail order? If a website sells Specialized bikes by mail, you know they're not legit. (I don't see any of those on this site.)
3. Excellent indicator: Does the business have an address listed? Does that address exist, and is it a bike shop? Google Maps Street View will tell you. (This site fails: 319 Heavens Way Irvine CA does not exist. More sophisticated scammers will use a real address, but of a different business.)
4. How long ago was the domain name registered, and to whom? Go here: https://lookup.icann.org/ If the domain was very recently registered, it's likely a scam. Giant bike retailers don't just come out of nowhere. Probability goes up even more if it's also registered to someone outside the USA, or to an anonymous client. (This site fails: it was registered anonymously a month ago.)
5. Infallible indicator: Upon receiving your order, they ask you to pay via debit card, Western Union, or bank transfer. Those payment methods have no recourse. Credit cards and Paypal have buyer protection.
salecomponent.com fails 1, 3, and 4. Guaranteed scam. I didn't try to check out to see if they fail 5.
