    Easiest binding to step into

3 yrs out from blowing the ACL, the 2nd season on skis after a sucessful rehab, knee seems to work pretty good/ no pain/ skiing groomers T2B/ the pro seemed to do a pretty good job

But whatever he did I am still not able to click the heel into a Marker Baron of which i own 2 pair, I have to click in by raising my heel off the binding to take a run at clicking in

My sense is that the Baron needs a lot of pressure to get in SO which is the easiest binding to get into ?

the pow skiing is still not so good, unless that knee gets a whole lot stronger the touring may be done

Yeah I think all the markers take some effort to step into... I'd vote for warden or sth2, heels are remarkably easy by comparison.

Marker addressed the "hard to step in to" problem with the Royal Family heels in '20-'21 by redesigning the roller that your heel came down on - it is now rounded out so you don't have to push the heel back radically to step in. No problem now, but still not quite as easy to get in to as an STH2/Warden or Tyrolia Attack. New Strive seems easy, too.

Only reason i got Barons is they both came on lightly used lotus 120 hybrid + Cochise + skins for 1000 $

I was thinking Marker may have a problem in general with stiff ( er) bindings cuz I have seen a petite woman be unable to get into F10s until they took off the brake

SO maybe replace the barons, I do have some STH on redster FIS GS skis and Attaks on BD superfats that I can test out so i will try that

I've got a few days early season touring this year at the hill and so the verts & rads are pretty easy to get in but I want more of a safety margin from a release perspective and of course the different boots

    > 3yrs ago a foot of new pow would have been fun but its been a problem with a new ACL/ weak knee, SO I fell when i shoudn't have & couldn't get up on that bad knee, I had to thrash around and get up on the other knee which required too much energy and too much time, if its isnt better this time next year there will be a fire sale on touring gear

Stick with it, I think you did your ACL about 6 months after I did, and mine is just starting to feel normal now. Took until this fall before I could kneel on it (helps a lot when molding custom footbeds) and I've developed a daily massage/stationary bike routine to warm up, but the knee is pretty damn good in any kind of snow.

I sucked so bad 1 yr ago I almost quit skiing but the PT I went to for a medical note fixed me up

I have not heard the weight challenged lady singing yet so i stick with it & hope for the best

The 3 piece heels (attacks, sth, warden, etc) should be easiest, pivots are pretty easy at low din, markers with the old heelpiece might be the most difficult.

    Best of luck on recovery

My daughter & wife are having a much easier time getting into their Tyrolia Aatacks vs. their Squire/F10 series Markers, but those Markers are way harder to get into than Barons for some insane reason.

The Tyrolias seem easier than my Wardens as well, so I'd go that direction, and the Tyrolia frame option (Adreneline?) looks pretty solid.

As a fellow cheapskate, though, I may suggest getting those G3 poles with the touring lifter hooks on the grips to "help" the Barons up when you step in. I used to do this by hand in deep snow but, well, I don't think my hand can reach that far down anymore. YMMV.

When I cat ski guided (2010-15) clients with Markers would invariably require assistance to get their skis on in deep pow. Made for good tips. STH2 were/are easy to get into.

I cannot provide proof that my kingpins wrecked havoc on my rehabbed left ACL + Meniscus but I’m certain it was not the right binding to ease back into skiing. You live and learn. My pivots are much easier to get in and out of.

Interesting comments on Marker vs. Tyrolia. I used Griffons for 15 years with zero problems or pre-releases. Switched to Attack 14 last year because they are smoother to step into, but I've already had two pre-releases in bad spots. So I keep cranking up the DIN but I sure don't have as much confidence in the Tyrolias as I did in the lowly old Marker Griffons.

    I'll vote for 900-series / STH-1 being the easiest.

The current-gen Royal Markers are easier than prior, but still a lot harder entry than STH.

Tonite I am carpet testing bindings/ making sure the Hotronic socks fit in the boot for tomorrow/ comparing a couple of pinot grigio's ... so who sez guy's can't multi-task ?

Is the Atomic X12 a rebadged Salomon STH-1 ? its not bad either is the Deadbolt 13, definalty easier to step into than the Barons, BUT I can get in all of them on the carpet SO I have to assume the spring action of the brakes which i don't have to overcome on the carpet are making it easier

I have only ever toured a baron once, if I am going to tour I would use one of my touring setups so I don't need that function, I could sell those barons to some poor bastard who thinks he is buying a touring binding and get some sally's
