I think I am most interested in the C132 over the FR for my use case. I can’t see myself using them inside the resort very much other than on my way to the gate.
But… maybe I’m wrong. I just remember not loving my old Lotus 138 hybrids in the resort all that much. Once things got tracked, running them straight and fast back to the lift wasn’t the most fun.

My quiver is 112/121/122/122/122 so I definitely need a 132 on the end haha

As an owner of the FR132 190.... unless I was skiing open alpine bowls out of a chairlift, I am not sure I'd ever need a 200cm version. The 200 C132 tho... maybe.

Yup, I run my 200 c132s out of our gates in search of fresh lines. Have them CASTified and walk with them 1-2x a year.

IMO plenty of mass for resort duties in the carbon version.

Wow, this site is hot garbage right now.

Let me edit my post above a bit:

unless I was only skiing open alpine bowls or AK heli lines, I am not sure I would ever need a 200cm version.

I owned the L138 R3.1 192 for a couple years and loved it but it felt small and nimble. For what I want out of that kind of ski I think the longer length is the answer.
I’m also 6’5 and 195 before any gear goes on.

If I wanted a smaller pow ski I think my 191 renegades or revolt 121 or hellbents will fill that. I want the solution to those silly deep bluebird days, even if it’s not often.

Just going to add that the c132 is a real fun ski. I could make any size turn I wanted practically just by thinking it. Super nimble in tight spots and especially so for being 4cm longer than my preferred max length. The best part of today was exiting a big drifty turn faster than I’ve ever come out of a drift and using that speed to boost off a knuckle.

Look at these beauties. Absolute fucking units they are. Mounting up an ATK C-Raider 12 with free ride spacer and takin’ ‘em to SW Colorado this weekend to slash around some deeper snow for a couple days. To say I’m stoked is an understatement. Taking my BC105s as well, though I doubt they’ll see much (any) time in snow.

Forgive my transgression of not getting a pic of the rocker profile.

@gaijin – I’ve never skied that Ren you speak of plus I’m a pretty mid skier, but I’ll do my best to leave some thoughts about how these Bad Larrys ski next week. And if I ever make it to Japow, I’m sure these will be in the ski bag and you’d be welcome to try ‘em for a lap or two.

I had my FR132s out most of the day Sunday. Tail end of a 36"+ cycle. A magical ski in so many ways when the conditions are right. The kind of skiing you do in your dreams, but in reality. Easy mode faceshots on every turn. Trun, turn, wipe goggles, deeper slash, wipe goggles, giggle like a school boy, on repeat. I had a 10 meter sideways drift at 20+ mph of constant faceshot that will stick with me for all of eternity.

Also got to ski with a guy from SLC whos handle I have forgotten who was on the UT122s! I swapped up to the FR110s for the last two laps of the day (it was a busy as silverton guided gets, so we actually ran out of untracked terrain for once) and had to get the tip lift shot. Edit: I thought photos were working again, but I guess not

    Great posts

I’m thinking a Ski Trab TR[emoji637] on my UT[emoji637][emoji638][emoji638]’s and a lighter tech binding on my C[emoji637][emoji639][emoji638]’s

Came down with a head cold the day before our guided San Juans trip, but gave'r a go anyways. Managed to ski a couple thousand vert a day for two days near Red Mountain Pass on the UT122s. Day one was colder snow, unconsolidated deepish powder, a bit steeper terrain but nothing crazy steep. This a great ski... absolutely tons of fun. They've got a big sweet spot, great float, and just fast everywhere. You gotta push ‘em a bit (I mean, even at 190cm they're not small) but they'll get slideways and slashy enough to ski tight trees. On day two it was quite a bit warmer, sunnier, and we were on shallower terrain. Very intuitive and super fun to slarve around in low angle hot pow, easy to keep momentum for turns where others were getting bogged down a bit. I did have a bit of a tougher time encouraging them to turn once I got real tired and the snow started getting manky and grabby, though I suspect a narrower lighter ski wouldn't have made much of a difference. Also probably also exacerbated by the aforementioned head cold that is zapping my strength right now.

So yeah, you gotta ski these Bad Larrys (or at least I do) but they deliver! Not generally a skier that puts air between my skis and the snow but like my other HL skis I'm actually finding myself hucking off little things and I’m like “Who am I?”

I’m pretty sure I don’t need C one thirty twos and also UT one twenty twos, but it’s hard to resist. I know I’d dig the UT’s and they would be ready to replace my favorite all arounder when they expire sometime soon….

ATK C-Raider 12 with freeride spacers mounted -8cm from true center, 87cm from tail. Lange XT3 130 boot with rear spoilers and a Booster strap added, stock liners. I’m 6’2” and 200-205 butt nekkid, so add whatever lbs for boots clothes pack etc. I’m still figuring out these skis but feel like they fall in the ‘surfy’ category… they like a centered stance. Not like you’ll flip over the bars if you’re forward or anything, but they love high speed slashing.

Also, some notes about skinning the UT122.

I've never had a super light setup, so the "weight" doesn't bother me. And to be honest, given the size of these things I think they're light AF and everyone who picked them up over the weekend was surprised. I mean this is actually the 2nd lightest setup I've owned, the lightest being my BC105s with ATK R12s. Ski weight of the UT122 about the same as the my old Black Crows Corvus Freebird, and those had a heavier binding.

I bought Contour skins for the UT122s, and they seem to work great. Even with the subtle rocker, I didn't find the ski wanted to slip backwards too much even when the skin track got steep. Plenty of times others in our party would be sliding, and I could just walk right up. I'm assuming it's at least partially due to being a big ski means there's a lot of carpet on the snow which helps with traction. I also found the ski to be well-weighted for kick turns, easy to keep the tip up out of the snow. To be fair, I also am of the mind that keeping your ski level in a kick turn is a technique that requires practice but the UT122 didn't exhibit any bad habits for this either.

@FullTrucker, can you post up a profile of those UTs?

Decided to trade C132s for the 183cm UT122s. I loved the 132s, but I was drawn to the shorter and skinnier variant as a more versatile and lighter touring ski, particularly for where I typically ski in the PNW.

@fulltrucker Curious, whats your mount point on the BC105? I have mine mounted -10.5 and wonder if I should bump them forward.

Also at -10.5 on both BC105 and R105, that ski feels really well balanced right there for me. When I demo’d the FL105 while visiting Marshal, I tried it mounted forward a bit but preferred the way it skis at the recommended traditional spot.

Thanks for the UT122 rocker pic, Full Trucker. I am really surprised by how little splay there is in the tail. How does it ski?

    Does the tail release easily?

Does it feel planky or hard to exit a turn?

I tried a BC110 and felt that way about the tail - wondering how the 122 compares. (I also own the C132. It is an awesome ski but thinking of looking for something with a bit more fore-aft stability…like the 122.)
