Been a few times. Nice hill, kind of a shitty vibe. Sometimes crowded and very overpriced for a day ticket (think Tremblant, but Frencher). You park at the top, which is quirky. Great views of the seaway on some runs. Pretty nice glades off the lift most to skiers left. From that lift you can also access a pretty sweet sidecountry zone called Zone Ligori (SP).

A favorite spot I like to hit if I'm up that way is Mont grand Fond. Bout 45 minutes farther north-west. More of a family hill, cheaper and way more chill. Smaller but also has good glades and a really fun lift accessed "side country" zone. Amazing views on the drive there too.

This whole area gets a shit ton more snow than we do. It's usually my early season go to. Pretty much January up there in early December.

Massif du Sud -- > closer to Maine.
Never been yet but heard so many good things. People rave endlessly about the tree skiing and the same guy who cut the glades there did Sutton and tremblant or so the story goes and he's somekind of legend or something. I dunno. I am over due to check it out, but the weather is kinda fickle in that area IMO.

Thank you. My only skiing experience North of the border has been at Sutton and we were lucky to hit that one a great day when the woods were "in."

I dunno, my wife and I skied it on Easter weekend on our way home from the Chic Chocs (many moons ago) and we really enjoyed it. I guess YMMV.

Many moons ago it was probably better (vibe wise), but since that time it has become a Club Med resort (literally) and the price of lift tickets has gone off the charts. Regardless of that, terrain is pretty good and the Ligori Zone is way fun, so yeah its not not a fun spot.

i guess if you went up that way you could stay in baie st. paul which is pretty nice and ski st anne and charlevoix easy. the river gets a lot of snow but if i’m headed up that way i want to get back to edouard and vali more than the quebec city spots. rudeness knows more about them than me but vali had the softest snow i have ever skied. there’s no snowmaking up there, and it was just deep and so fun. those drives are getting pretty long from the states i guess though. thankfully i’m pretty happy with these little hills near montreal. no one is here midweek at all, cheap tix, interesting enough skiing. hopefully it starts snowing for everybody soon enough but i am happy that the area seems to have dodged another bullet today.

Massif du Sud is the mountain you seek.

If you go to Massif de Charlevoix bail St. Paul is a nice town with great food

Went for it this afternoon at Whiteface after the rain changed to snow and it really was better than expected after hearing rain all night hitting the roof...2-3-4” bottom to top and no one there...could have been a lot worse. Based on this season I’d say it was...average. Glad I went. Back to the magic carpet tmrw with my 3 y/o for some frozen cord

We’ve got a great crew of snow reporters this year. Dude went out in his surfing wetsuit with a snorkel this morning for pics shredding the mank on his snowboard in the rain

    18º calm and overcast bob.
We took it in the backside with the backside snow from this last front, approx. 3/32" of fresh powder to enjoy is all that was provided.

4 people at Gatehouse for opening bell meant fun cruising laps. Estimated about 12-16 skiers on the pod, many who went up NL. Felt like I was at a private club, could arc all over the trail without worry of anyone around.

Off cycle so we never found each other I did observe that Surface Whore was laying quarter moons all over the place. In 2 1/2 hours of skiing only overtook a group of 6 and a single couldn't have been a hundred out until the rain stopped. Looks like icy groomers until the end of the week. bleh
