Wednesday February 22 is free skiing at BMOM if folks want to tag that in with Saddleback. I won’t be around, but could be worth a stop on route 2 on the way.

Me likey....perhaps a side trip to da Loaf also. And as Cat noted, free skiing at BMOM on 2/22. Stars are aligning.

A buddy of mine who lives in Jackson, NH says there’s a pretty good crust on things right now over there. That means it’s probably a factor in the snowpack in the alpine zone.

Got out on the skinny skis today, felt good to burn some calories after the recent carb-fest.

I’m headed up to the loaf for a quick overnight the 16th 17th with a buddy, we head west on the 24th otherwise I’d come up the next week.

but if anyone is around the 16th or 17th, send me a message. I’d love to make some turns. We were talking 16th at sugarloaf and possibly saddleback on the 17th. Gets us 30 minutes closer back to Vt to on the second day.

Good times skiing rock pile adjacent today. It sure made the drive back and forth to Portland worth it.

I followed a feral cat in. It must have been injured as it was leaving red dots on the snow all the way to Hojos.

Clear above (for now - by the time I hit Gorham on the way back west the peaks were socked in).

There were several avy courses going on. Not sure if these folks were skiing or digging a pit.

2 hours car to car. Even with a rest at the station and pics along the way.

On a more-positive note, managed to get out in the slopes today before the forecast turned south.

Chalky start to the day, with a firm surface underneath that kept you on your toes.

At lunch we paid penance for skiing on empty stomachs, the only way we knew how:

Then the snow started to fall, at first gently:

Nice Smuggs stoke, actually looks like winter.

Speaking of Smuggs I see vtski posted a vid "skiing" Back Hole the other day

Peruvian texted updates on his trip including cars off 89 but didn't tell us how close he came to A Drummonds 4 minute descent earlier this week.

Avi reports and Observations were looking great this week until yesterdays wind fucked it up. That and the incoming shit means back to reset.

This shot snagged from a GG 2/07 obs report, looked promising
