Not much of a conversation in the ECRC this year, I think your japow trip has infused this thread with much needed pics of stoke & soup. Hopefully they’ll be the lifeline that gets us all to that big finish the thread title references!

Unequivocally yes Single. If your pack seemed a bit heavier this week on the uphills it’s because we were all along for the ride. Loving the stoke and happy for you out there havin a ripper with old friends. Love the pics! Keep sharing!

That's Richard. He's an excellent guy with really good skills. I made the mistake of buying some Scarpas online (support your ski local ski shop) and he fit me for an really low price, two visits. Since then I buy from Sports Page to support Richard.

Bump on this list to make mention that Hal K at Northern Ski Works on the Killy access road is a great guy and a boot fitter from waaaaaaaaaay back in the day. He taught me some of the tricks of the trade when we worked together at Alpine Haus back in the 80s. And yes, I'm old.

Skiing seems to be pretty good, or at least about 15,000 people seemed to think so. Sunday River traffic was backed up to the Irving on route 2/26 when I left at 10:30ish, and when I went over to Mt. Abram for magic carpet time with the toddlers, they were plowing parking in front of the solar panels as people waited to pull in; the line for the Westside lift was at least as long as the longest I've seen during mountain bike season.

I've got my fingers crossed for some more weather favorable to skiing. We've got super-G training scheduled next week, with a pair of races around the weekend, so that should encourage some more snowfall.

No pics but think of what bucket posted....

Was about 10th chair at Magic this morning. Rusty was 1st chair. Jeff with a G was pretty aggressive opening terrain and so we partook (Is that a word?).

Mostly untracked down Up Your Sleeve to a sleeper audible to ski down Magic Carpet. 2 sets of tracks in front of us. Light on your feet and not hittin nuthin.

2nd trip, took a chance on Upper Trick which, although groomed, skied fantastic, to Mystery Bowl which doesn't seem to be on anybody's radar. Got a bunch of untracked turns down that one.

Goniff joined but the place was pretty schralped. A few more runs and I called it quits because the wait was up to 5 minutes. Such a snob.

Anyone had experience with garrick dardani at steiners? High reccs from one of the race coaches. Please pm me if not entirely positive feedback; I don't want to create any mudslinging.

Skidiva had a post that he is drop dead gorgeous... not sure that'll help us .

Thanks for packing out the base layers of what I’m certain promises to be the first of many storms cued up for us. I mean, it can’t get get much worse over here, right? No need to answer that!

Inspired by our hero I felt the need to and finally had some time to make some turns this am. Loaded up the sled and rolled up to the Jersey Alps ; figured I’d grab my pass and dust off the cobwebs. It’s grim here but , felt so good to be back out , nothing quite like a gravity fed rush for the mind. Skied a few laps and then got the fuck out before the hordes filed in. Kudos to the creek for keeping something down out there through the last few weeks….

Based on our date night to a new “listening lounge” in Burly last night - PBR and UC are out as the hip cheap beer and Miller High Life is in. I saw it creeping onto menus but didn’t think it would catch the wave.

Mrs P and I took advantage of the new snow to test our lungs and then went full tourist in Stowe.

Trapps made it feel like winter again.





Ski up brewery and lunch at the Bierhall is pretty special.

The Alchemist hosted an ice carving contest for the Winter Carnival.

Grand Prix laps make the whole operation worth it when it’s open, unfortunately not quite ready yet!
