WTF?! I pay for dinner and have to cook it too? At least it was done just the way I like it.

Kidding… it was fantastic. And fun.
Damn. Is it actually soup? Asking for a friend.

To be fair he did correctly forecast an Alberta Clipper in the Spring of 2011.

Looking for bootfitter to align my 7 yo son's boots and make orthotics. Seriously knock kneed (genu valgum.) Looking for in the upstates area (within 2 hour of Lake George, for example) with knowledge of aligning young kids.

I'm guessing orthotics and medial sole canting. Challenge is that placing a medial cant shim under right boot prevented right knee from internal rotating with flexion.

Maybe 2" in my yard here in the Upper Valley.

Meanwhile school is cancelled. It took at least a foot to do that in my day. #oldmanyellsatcloud

3-4" of medium density here in the NEK. Good base building considering we only had an inch on the ground before last night. And it is still snowing off and on.

I think Central NH got a solid 6" out of this. (thats what she said, yea ya yea)

It obviously wasnt *epic* but certainly the best day I've had this season.

I measured seven inches in the dooryard this morning, the River claimed eight and I'll buy that. Got five runs in the morning on the Jordan 8 after rolling the dice that it would open on time, and it did. That took about an hour, then I went home to scrape skis and putter for a bit before driving back to the mountain for a couple of runs with the rest of the coaches before listening to my legs and bailing. Skiing was pretty damn good in both cases, although switching from a Bent Chet 120 at first bell to a 100 for the afternoon was definitely a good call.

The guns were running all day, even at marginal temps, which makes me think the mountain might be a little pessimistic about the forecast. Or maybe they just feel like Charlie Brown trying to kick the football and will take any window they get. Either way, they were spending real money to add to the natural accumulation.

Used to frequent that place when I lived in Saratoga...never got boots fit there. I would strongly recommend a call to one of the OGs...Bill Haight at Green Mountain Orthotics at the base of Stratton.

Thought Stratton would be a good idea to sample the 2" or so that they reported. All lifts (almost) reported as open. Got there early, got some good tracks on our first run down but when we tried to change to another lift/trail pod we found that the lift was not operating. turns out 3 of the 4 summit lifts were delayed due to icing. That led to a shitshow line at the one open summit lift.

And it was getting worse by the minute. After 3 runs of this nonsense, we decided to head back over to Magic as we had heard reports of soft snow and no people. There was at least a 20-minute line at the ticket window as we bailed out of Stratton...what a mess.

Made our way back over to Magic and it was just as reported. Only 1.5 ways down but the snow was creamy and there were no mobs trying to thrash it into oblivion. At least 75% of the chairs went up empty...

Not a bad recommendation, but he's in the intro to race program and stoked on it. Snowboard racing isn't really an option here AFAIK.

Cool. Always good to have options though. Personally, I'm a skier and it requires a circular saw for me to get any use out of a snowboard. However all three of my kids went straight for snowboarding. And I fully supported it. None of them race. Only one still slides on snow. The best part was I didn't have to teach them and I got to go skiing every Sunday while they were in the program at Smuggler's Notch. Mitey Mites fucking rules. After lessons got out the kids and I would take a few runs together until closing. Anyway, I hope your kid can get dialed in.

Its funny, I noticed the same thing in that picture.

But no, if I had taken a pic from Okemo last week, there were all kinds of eye- insulting colors on display, bright pink and orange and neon everywhere. That crowd is definitely more muted though. Stratton, huh. Go figure. Its definitely NOT representative of the east though

I broke out the Powder Poncho on the east side of Yotei, Hokkaido today. Letting my freak flag fly for David Crosby. RIP

Morning skin lap today and now driving 4 hours up to Furano. I hope that these few posts from the Far East have gotten you all through until it snowed in New England. Hopefully mission accomplished, Radio Japan out.

Hope to ski you all when I get home in February.

Unequivocally yes Single. If your pack seemed a bit heavier this week on the uphills it’s because we were all along for the ride. Loving the stoke and happy for you out there havin a ripper with old friends. Love the pics! Keep sharing!

Thanks for that… I want to be respectful and not start taking over the conversation, especially with the rough season being experienced in the NorthEast. Don’t want to be that guy.

I am going to a traditional Ramen only restaurant tonight… that is soup, no?
