Just got off the hill. Kid had intro to race and had fun. I skiied with his friend's mom in no precipitation, rain, and freezing rain. Had fun.
The west threads are depressing me. Staying positive. Starting to get decent at skiing switch though . So there's that.

i know this forecaster gets slagged here a good bit but he's also hit many days weeks ahead of NOAA and co. and that 8-16 isn't in cms either

ever hopeful, a glimmer will get me optimistic.

    Bummer about that death

Out for fun in the sun yesterday, waited until it got above freezing to suit up. Lurker Jerry texted it was soft just as I was leaving.
After soft GH laps we went to the summit, RC looked unfriendly with many patches of polished ice, Jester was a great choice

yes very sad news (at first sight i thought it was the kid who fell at mt snow!). wishing strength to all suffering her loss.

^^some base is the next step towards 'base'. we might be in for a stretch of nickel and diming that gets things into shape... i hope...

on a happier note: wow single! looks like you hit the jackpot with that soup (and rice on the side!).

skiing looks pretty tasty too. we may have a little snow coming our way (think the cleared steps in pic1) but we'll take it. if we actually get it!
    enjoy and keep 'em coming!

    Singlecross stoked for you!

Absolutely tragic fifteen year old death. Frightening actually. I would guess the skiier was wearing a helmet. Most people are these days. My heart goes out to the family and any of her friends skiing with her.

Fuck. Came here to ask about Magic beta but as a dad of a 15 year old girl and a patroller I can’t even imagine. Not sure I want to ask my question. Last accident I worked was a similar age kid, broken clavicle but at last minute complained of neck pain and extremity tingling, so we backboarded and sent out on an ambulance; doubt it’s anything but…. If I worked a critical PT and they died, not sure how I’d deal with that.

Went to Kokusai resort today… got a 1 ride gondola ticket to get a bump to the top for an easier start. Apparently Jerry, Joni Mitchell, and Ringo came here at one point.
