The updated sticker would say “VAIL ALMOST RUINED SMUGGS”
    Vail did ruin Stowe.
But a Stowe smuggs connector would be cool. Under Indy ownership. But that ship sailed.
Walking across is no big deal. They could just have reciprocated on pass access. Vail could agree to pay $x per epic pass scanned at smuggs

    Mmmm Carriage Road Riding ^^

The best this years foliage is going to get. Peaceful morning with the alpenglow, a Pileated calling in the distance and the Honduran trail crew hasn't fired up yet.
Lots of green left although Philipe is going to take a lot of color this weekend

65º bob with a light breeze. Burlington recorded their highest October temp since the 1880s yesterday and it was quite warm bob as well

The fact that northern Vermont is in the pathway makes me want to gamble on a trip from WA. At the very least we can see my wife’s family and get some spring turns in. A mag summit would be a chefs kiss, and I’d drag my wife to it if necessary.

Probably aim for a Jay day? Smuggs (and Bolton) is always my goto when visiting, but I want that totality time baby.

…or is it going to be cloud city and we should go to Indianapolis instead?

Anytime there’s supposed to be something interesting in the sky in the East we seem to get clouds, but who knows.

An old video, but this one gets me stoked for Winter. Lots of frost around the great state of Maine last night.

Wow… that really sucks. Been open since 1934, it’s a shame to see that come to an end.

what a bummer. the legend of the place had me eager to check it out.

sounds like a victim of the vailification of the industry.
hope a worthy group can reopen the place next year

Black Mtn (NH) a truly wonderful Family run ski area. Such a shame. Hopefully it will be a short closure and they will be back soon.

Charlesj visited there last year on his semi-spancered ski bum video tour of the US.

Seemed like it was just him and a patroller that day.

Reminds me I've got to hit Middlebury, Dartmouth, Saskadena 6 and a few other small guys this year. Not sure how they do it, but Pats Peak is hitting it out of the park (still). I like going there but they don't need my Indy redemption.

I only went for Friday night lights and wild corn shindig. Both of which stopped being held there.

    Cool little spot for sure.

I wonder how they will handle or tolerate uphill there.

    Agree pats peak.

If you want to go to small places add king pine to your list.

You can rent a Dartmouth outing club cabin like halfway up Dartmouth skiway. Super fun.

Pats peak does a ton of local race/school programs as far as I remember. After Temple folded and Crotched was closed for a while, it was the only game in a region with a LOT of skiers.

Skied Black a lot as a kid in the 70’s. The Shovel Handle was probably the best apres scene in the valley back in the day. So many great memories from that place. This one hurts bad

Sad to see another little ski hill go down.

Wasn't there some controversy about poachers associated with Friday Night Lights and other times?
    Might interfere with nelsapping.
If not the case, we should Mini there some time
