I really dig the ikon blackout days. Wish everyday was an ikon blackout. Didn’t pay attention to the time but once I pulled onto the hwy at entry 1 at the bird I’m guessing it only took me 35 or 40 minutes at the most to get home. The drive every day I skied last week was worse.

Friend shared with me. Anyone wish to calculate this inflation rate? Love their logic for “packages” back in the day. If only the current administration attempted to match the logic of the previous era’s regarding comparison pricing with other resorts…

IIRC a day pass was $15 in 1985-86 when I first skied Alta while at the U.

Also why was albion/sunnyside $10, while the 'day pass' was $9? Was the albion/sunnyside an addon to the all lifts?

For those of us who are not skiing on MLK, enjoy this video. I don't know Lucas (maybe he is a maggot), but his stoke meter is away high

I enjoy a lot of YouTube content but Lucas’ stuff just doesn’t do it for me.

Free refills all day, blower pow, can't complain. Other than getting completely soaked early in the day when it was warm then freezing solid that is.
This season is reminding me of one of the less obvious issues with touring solo: skinner maintenance. It gets tiring re-breaking trail over and over when the damn skinners keep refilling cause it's snowing so hard and the winds are nuking.
Speaking of nuking wind, this widow maker was swaying a lot and looking ready to come down and skewer my ass. Gave it a wide berth...

Couldnt believe how much untracked the bird was still holding today. Rode elevator and it barely counts as a chute, its so fat now. Cliffs are disappearing everywhere.

Hands down the biggest parking lot shit show in the Wasatch, add in the no Sunday Night skiing and stay until 4 pm those days if you really want to punish yourself.

Agreed Buzz; he popped up on my Youtube a month or so ago. Watched the first minute or so of this then grabbed my trash can and puked. I don't care if Chompfacekillah was nice enough to let him take a lap with him. Most kid's technique these days is shit and I can't stand to watch it; almost as bad as the lack of fundamentals in the NBA today

I agree that he is not a great skier, but he sure looks like he is having fun to me. Doing a lap on High Boy, , Catherine's and Main Chute during the same day would kick my ass, and the video does give a good view of skiing Alta, at least from my point perspective.

So good in there today!! We waited 5 mins and got the shoulder opening, sidestepped to the top (no beater traverses here), faceshots every turn down Bounous', booted right back up the wildcat ramp, dropped keyhole, and caught the shuttle right as we rolled into the catchers mit. That was an absolutely unreal 1-2 punch!

Sorry my photos suck but you get the idea...Click image for larger version.

Can't argue with his stoke factor, but if fun is what we're looking for on the social medias or here .... I'd rather see some proud dad viddy of his little landing their first jump or getting their first faceshot and then giggling uncontrollably or screaming their head off with excitement

    Snowbird was fun af today.

Dropped into Mineral late in the afternoon just for fun and hit a deep pocket. Was like where did this come from?

Again skied the best my last run of the day. Fighting with tendonitis in my right knee and need the right balance of advil and 1 beer to make my brain stop listening to the pain.

Anyway. What a place. All of my previous days at the Bird have been on shitfuck hard pack. This was so much better.

    Thanks Utardia.

Now a day off to stretch my knee back into cooperation and to check out Park City and then repeat Alta Bird on Wed, Thurs. The girls are flying home then but if the knee doesn't veto I hope to do Snowbasin or Powder mtn on Friday and White Pine on Saturday (have mtn collective and Indy).

Pics of my 12 year old girl.

A day on skis is better than, well any other day. I’ll be shredding the gnar at Nordic Wednesday. $29 and get to ski with two mags.

Everyone here is posting great kid and pow stoke from non-stop great conditions and you are posting some dumb stranger's crap. No thank you.

Buzz, hit me up next week if you want to ski, or any week following. Snowboarders are fun to ski with, I married one and most of my old partners back in the day were snowboarders.
