TAHOE 22/23 -THE YEAR OF THE (t)RAM

That would be really cool in a snow year like this one, but I’m guessing that’s not how it’s being run

Patrol use boundary markers to drop you into the back of Solitude. You can get to Shirley too but that seemed like too much hiking and we could see Solitude at the bottom. The patrol was pretty happy when he saw us exit. Guess it was his idea to somehow get it open which we told him we were really happy about.

Looking towards Shirley/Solitude from Smoothie. Would be interesting to see how you get back to Solitude. Would sure be fun to ski all the way down the canyon though!

Way back in the day, first time we did smoothy, was with Susan from Wildflower.
You had to sign out on a clipboard that was in the wee patrol shack up top of granite chief lift. And they never had Silvy lift running. Had to traverse all way back to tram building. If you got in 2 runs, you were a hero!
Last time, a few years back, with Silvy running, was a lot easier to do laps. Tho your body can get "tweaked" with the traversing over to the drop in gate.

TAHOE 22/23 -THE YEAR OF THE (t)RAM

For all of you who want to live somewhere it doesn't snow so much, here's a map. TL;DR: pretty much anywhere else in the world besides the western U.S. this year.

So what happened? Are you saying they pulled the plug because of that?

pulled the plug, patrol said they can't be wasting resources on a busy saturday sending snowmo's down the oregon trail all morning to pickup wayward skiers.
seems to be the new normal, jerry can't follow the rules ruining things for the rest of us.

Argh. That really sucks. I guess they need the resources to rescue any more jerrys that try to poach the rooftop on a busy Saturday. JFC

I wonder how patrol even found out he was down at Silvy. Should have made him walk out for penance

Had all ready skied my objectives for the day last week when I strolled by this one I’ve been lusting over for many years was still in and a stiff SW wind was keeping that aspect in good shape, stoked to have finally skied it

Went to olympic meadows for the first time this weekend. Both are special places for sure (kt bumps and jumps were great yesterday afternoon) but AM provided some of the best spring boarding ive ever had. I drove emerald bay and was felling pretty bummed i didnt manage to tour after seeing that terrain but a lot of what i hit at am rode like BC corn.
Some of the black mountains of snow around town had me scratching my head wondering how they even made them so tall. Hope yall get at least one more reset.

It's rare for pitch to be accurate on video. That's a beast! Nice work!
