2022 season kicks off in a week. Huge TV rights being signed in the Big 10. Big 10 expanding. How long before it’s only Big 10 vs SEC?
Looking for continued improvement from my Gophers.

I hate what college football has become.
FWIW I eventually foresee ..….2/3 super conferences.….all the NCAA/television money will be pumped into those 30 some “Power” 2/3 schools….Those schools entire athletic programs will compete within these super conferences and will become the “real” D1 programs.
All the other remaining schools/athletic programs in the country will drop/ compete within a D1-A, D2, D3 conference championship system..(as they do now)
The amount of money the “big” schools are making from these television deals will basically make these schools/facilities so dominant, there is no way a “smaller” school will ever be able to compete/recruit with the “Power” schools…..in any sport.
Anyway…back to subject….Looking forward to start of season…means shop work starts up/big games on Saturday nights/the turn.
That’s exactly what is so wrong with where it’s heading. Completely screws smaller or lesser known programs that have talented players or those that are in a down period after being near the top a decade or two ago. Completely screws programs that follow the rules vs those that definitely cheat anyway they can to stay in the top 20.
Top 2 from each of four power conferences or top 4 from each of two power conferences to have an 8 team playoff. Natty game on New Year's Day. No more stringing the shit out past first week of January.
And ya it's bullshit for everyone left out..
EDIT to be clear. This is only what I expect within the nest 5 year.

Go that way really REALLY fast. If something gets in your way, TURN!
I've never been less excited about a college football season, and college football is my favorite thing in the world.
swing your fucking sword.
Oregon, Washington, Cal and Stanford to the B1G?
What happens first, those schools join or Notre Dame finally sucks it up and says ok, we'll join?
I still call it The Jake.
Thank goodness I'm not the only one. I was talking to a friend this morning and said, "It's downright unAmerican, but I've largely given up on CFB."
I was good with Penn State (makes sense) and even Nebraska (it's sorta, kinda Midwest)...I begrudgingly accepted MD...b/c who gives a shit about MD football...but I CANNOT accept USC and UCLA in the Big10!!!!
That being said: Go Bucky...I still check your highlights. <shrug>
It makes perfect sense...until you think about it.
I suspect there's logic behind the madness, but I'm too dumb to see it.
It’s game week!!!!

I'm moderately excited, but it all seems so..... academic.... with all the conference churn we know is coming. Hard to get stoked playing teams I know won't be in the same conference as us in a couple years.

Notre Dame will still get a chance to lose to a variety of schools no matter what happens with conference re-alignment.

Good games tonight…
-WV at Pitt
-PSU at Purdue
Nice way to start the weekend….
*Update: 1st half kinda boring…..although nice PSU TD right before halftime…going to bed.
**AM Update: Looks like the games got better in 2nd half….lol.

End of that Backyard Brawl was really fun.
Nittany Lions trying to poopoo the bed against Purdue.

Is is safe to say it's early enough to where whoever loses Notre Dame and Ohio State game tonight can still run the table for the rest of the season and make the playoff?

It's possible for either team, though certainly not guaranteed. The polls have a recency bias, so losing early in the season is better than later. But ND would have some tough sledding without a conference championship game to stack another quality W on the schedule. A 1-loss conference champ OSU probably makes it, but they might have a tough argument to make depending on how the other major conferences shake out.

College football is a disaster 90% of the time, then games kickoff and last night was 2 hours of chaotic madness…..and it was wonderful.

Picked to finish 5th in the mighty (unstable) Pac-12.
Perhaps a tad optimistic, but they're still undefeated on the year so why the hell not?
So today we have
- vote for a 12 team playoff
- SMU social media running a post with eric Dickerson driving the gold trans am
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=kid_-ZrHVfU
somehow I never knew until today that Texas A&M actually paid for the trans am, but somehow smu got the death penalty
Oklahoma bought Marcus Dupree's mom a house..

Iowa struggling vs So Dak St. 3-3 at half. F Iowa. Go Jack Rabbits.
UGA is still really really good. I have no idea what Oregon is even trying to do on either side of the ball. Just a mess.
