RR’s debut comes produced by Daniel Lanois and co-signed by Peter Gabriel and Bono.
Admittedly, at the time I had minimal knowledge of The Band and their place in American rock history; I bought the album because I was a Peter Gabriel fanboy.
The songs are all over the place, with Robertson sounding like Tom Waits on more than a few of ‘em…

Watched this flick the other week.
If you haven’t seen it, do.
It’s a fantastical, quasi surreal Broadway musical with an intense performance by Roy Scheider.
The score is gonzo great.
Picked this up at the local record store on Monday.
