Unless it cooks the meal for me I am not paying that kind of money for a stove
Never in U.S. history has the public chosen leadership this malevolent. The moral clarity of their decision is crystalline, particularly knowing how Trump will regard his slim margin as a “mandate” to do his worst. We’ve learned something about America that we didn’t know, or perhaps didn’t believe, and it’ll forever color our individual judgments of who and what we are.

wood burning kitchen stoves harken back to another time when all mom did was cook and get up at 5:30 am to start the fire,

I know this cuz the cook at Burnie would wake me at 5:30 am scuttling about in the kitchen right above my head

and be asking for wood, i think turning a valve on the stove is much easier

You can get into a wood burner kitchen stove for much less than 35K I think it was more like 6K for one of the amish cook stoves but not 35K

you can also get a modern stove hat looks like and old stove those are cool lookinh

somewhere i have a picture of using a Bell206 to instal an Amish maid woodburner on the end of a long line at Burnie

All of this, plus pretending to live a "back to the land" life while having a likely 9 figure bank account is pretty lame. Just own it. Also having more than a couple of kids is majorly irresponsible behaviour and should not be promoted or praised.

Isn't the whole point to an Aga is that it stays on ALL THE TIME? Yeah, that's what I want in the high desert in the summer, a 250 degree cast iron heatsink in the kitchen. Fuck. That.

Imagine telling your kids the mac & cheese will be ready in 8 days when the water finally boils.

Bullcrap. Birth rates in the US have declined significantly over the years. SO many people today choosing not to breed (like Fred above). That's fine and all, but economically/societally, that carries its own set of future problems. Just ask Japan & China. Point being, it's pretty much a non-issue if some random rich couple wants to breed like rabbits. At least they can afford it. Prolly all balances out in the end. Nothing to get too worked up about.

I agree you shouldn't have a whole passel of kids if you can't afford to support them, but that's not the case for these people, so who cares? Our whole economy, such as it is, is built on infinite growth, so if we ever get into negative population growth we'll be hosed.

Some people like to ride SS fully rigid MTBs. Others love to drive around classic cars. Still others like to Tele ski. This lady loves to play little home on the prairie. Some people are just masochists for the nostalgia.

And having a bunch of kids is most certainly not responsible. Having a bunch of kids without the resources to do so responsibly is. Sounds like this family has a glut of resources available.

I'm all for 100% taxation on personal wealth over 25 million or whatever other arbitrary large number we want to use. But that's a separate issue from family size. It looks like without immigration the US population will start declining in the next 15 years or so, some fringe people who are into large families aren't going to turn that around.

The place I used it was in Santa Fe. Fairly desert by my standards. Boiled water super quick - those top plates (with the covers) get hot fast. It does hold some heat and does require preplanning if you're using the oven. I was skeptical but surprised myself by liking it. Probably not for everyone.

edit: the one I used ran off gas. I believe it was shipped in from UK. It was an Esse.

LMAO. You got NO idea how much hawter teh sexy time is when a woman's straight telling you to put a baby in 'em. Then they pound you into the dirt like snu-snu. Girls get straight AGRO in the sack when they're fertile and wanting kids. Of course when chicks be ovulatin', it changes their cervical mucous to feel next level and of course increases their raw desire. It's probably the biology talking here, but there is something psychologically different about throwing off the shackles of birth control, condies, pulling out, whatever floats your boat, the anxiety of consequences goes out the window, and just going whole hog on a girl with reckless abandon. So I gots me a couple rugrats. Sorry, not sorry.

Im still not sure if I’m more unsettled by the detour to musings on cervical mucus or the impression that he needed a cold shower after typing that all up.

I read an interesting article about how the biggest flex in wealthy areas is the number of children one can support. Everyone can afford a Rover round those parts but three or four kids in a real estate environment where each bedroom adds a milli to the price of the house, yeah that's a flex.
