Seems like an under-appreciated brand over here.

Well, everything seems to be under-appreciated.

the Atris, nocta, and Ferox would eat that terrain up and do it with a smile. The snow is perfect and they all love tree skiing.

That’s were the 183 was great. It loves tight chutes and woods and then also ripping anything. I would take a 183 back in a heartbeat. It’s like the B97, one of those skis that a little shorter is sometimes the ticket.

I haven’t had any durability issues and I have definitely hit shit hard enough to know it should be bad and it’s barely a scuff. The edges are fairly hard as well.
This has me second guessing the 188s I picked up this summer, I'm a strong skier but only 6' 150.

Anyone want to trade 183s for my 188s? Mounted with STH2s for ~305 bsl

iriponsnow just got the 188 as well. I just got mine back from the startinggate, in fact all 7 pairs back, all with some sexy ass ZAI grinds on them. I’m gonna try a 1 base and 3 side bevel on them and see what happens

    The Black Crows thread

I’m 5’9” and 160-ish (shooting for 150 for ski season, but I probably love beer too much for that to be realistic) on the 188s. Not a ton of time on them yet, but they don’t feel too big either. I do prefer longer skis, but the 193 Corvus definitely felt too long.

    Last year’s model.
    focus.

no. 1 base 2 side for nocta and Ferox. Sometimes 1 and 1 depending on snow. Atris I run at 1 and 3. Corvus I was at .75 and 3. They didn’t disengage fast enough. My solis is .75 and 3. Corvus FB is .75 and 3. I’m thinking of .75 and 3 on the justis I just reacquired, I didn’t get along with them before but I’m going to give them another shot.

Did you mess with your base edge on the Corvus? I thought they were 1.3 and 3

Anybody tried BC skins? I think they are pomoca skins......I need a set for my Corvus. Which I should have probably bought from the dude I got the skis from but I thought the ones I had would fit, and they are actually fucked.

I have the prior generation Pellis ones which are the 70/30 Hybrids from Contour. Big fan of those! Haven't tried the new Pomoca/Pilus ones yet.

I’ve had the contours and I have like four or five sets of the pomocas. The pomocas are fucking awesome. The contours were decent. The lifetime glue kinda sucked. But I think you’ll be hard pressed to find any contours still for sale. Pretty much all of the ones I have found lately for cheap are pomoca. I think corbetts has skins for cheap right now. I know they had a 186 ferox skin for like 120 or something. I use a 186 ferox skin on my nocta. So there’s plenty of adjustment on the tail straps. I think I actually used a 181 ferox skin for my buddy’s 180 serpo. Just trimmed the extra on the waist.

but regardless I have had good luck with the new skins.

Edit to add corbetts still has killer prices. They have 181 and 186 ferox, they have 176 and 188 Corvus FB and they have some camox and orb skins as well. Those 181 will work for a 183 Corvus. I can check to see if my 186 ferox skins will work on the 183 Corvus as well if anyone wants. I know the 176 Corvus skins are the next length down and short. I got them onto a 181 ferox at one point but barely.

does anybody know who Michelle Parker will be riding for the coming season(s)? She and Abma were signed together with Callum Pettit to introduce Black Crows into the American market, but of the three only Callum is listed as an ambassador / crow team member. Abma rides for RMU now.

Not that who rides for who is all that important, but it would just surprise me if BC did not extend Michelle's contract in some form. After all, pushing women in skiing is all the rage nowadays and BC skis have always been popular due to their graphics / clean aesthetics.

I've had a few friends have good feedback from the Countour and now Pomoca Pellis skins. A bit pricey, but over the last few years they'd go on sale cheaper than most S-Glides or Free Pro 2.0's.

Bummer if Michelle is off the roster - after 7 years on and a lot of good content. Seems like they're athlete team/ambassadors list has been paired down this last year; there are 5-6+ names missing compared to last May and a similar amount to 2021. People who still ski for them (and many who have been a part of the Brand for a long time) and put out content, but oddly aren't listed online.

Not that I’m in the market for an 80ish waist ski, if I was, the Minus Cor would be it. It feels solid and looks like a lot of fun. Couple peeps I know ski and have a blast on it.0

You're the 3rd or 4th person in a number of days to mention that. It looks like a blast.
