Perfect.
Looking to pair my Tecnica Zero G Peak with a lightweight touring specific ski. I have a screamer of a deal for Orbs FB + Skins, but I’m just worried about say boot top pow (anything more and I’d be skiing my heavier setup regardless). Will I regret not paying more for the Camox FB?
Thanks for the IBU (International Banana Unit). From that it seems about the same splay as the Anima. Maybe slightly deeper rocker than the current gen Anima and more like the gen 1 Anima. If that’s truly the case, I think I can start getting excited about the ski. For years I’ve been wishing for a skinnier Anima with metal. That said, I still think it would be a shame if 191 was the longest option, but I’ll wait to ski it to render judgement. The 191 could be a great resort ski where I’m at, just thinking freeride comp ski for the bigger athletes, but I’d bet it would ski bigger than the largest Sender Free 110 at stock recommended line. From the pics, I’m guessing it’s a -6cm back from center mount as the Atris is -8cm, the Anima is -6cm. For what it’s worth to those losing the current Corvus, that would give an extra 2 cm to tail to help compensate for the twin tip a little, maybe enough to replace the 188 (giving about an extra 4.5 cm to the tail) but not the 193. Well, that’s enough speculation for the morning. Off to ski.
That ski looks like shit. It’s bullshit that BC now doesn’t offer anything with a flat tail over 100mm. More reasons just to have a katana or Cochise.
Buttah the serpo is good as long as you size up and don’t expect a stiff carver. East coast it lacks when the snow is hard.
Skied the Serpo and Corvus today.
Serpo was fun. Held an edge through refrozen chunder ice down low. Skied a lot stiffer than it hand flexes but also benefits from the softer flex in the bumps. Very impressed. I’d like it to replace the mantra at our shop. Quieter and less chattery tip.
The Corvus was really sick. Top of mountain is 15cm soft chop with moguls underneath and what’s not soft is pretty fucking had. Not chalk, but refreeze. Although it’s a different ski than the old Corvus it still charges. It smashed through the crap and held an edge railing GS turns through it. But, because of the more rockered tip, it naturally planed up over the pow, which I find the old one didn’t. It preferred to go through. The tail is very supportive and it’s just the rocker that is soft. The new tip and tail of course make it slashier. It rails turns skiing switch and is much lighter. Hard chunked out groomers is where the sacrifices were made. It’s not uneasy on them and it carves great but it doesn’t go that next level the old one did. It feels centre mounted in its balance but likes to be driven. Feels like a bigger tip than the sender free.
Great ski. Way better pow ski. Could be sick for touring.
GoldenBC thanks for the quick review. Sounds like an awesome ski, albeit maybe not the same usefulness as a low tide ski that the current Corvus is, which has replaced my Bonafides in use this year. I may have to grab a pair of outgoing Corvus for the reserve stock for that. However, it sounds like a great daily driver out west, and like a good comp ski.
Do we have the actual weight of the new Corvus?

Whambat, precisely.
Not sure on exact weight but it had strive demos and felt light.
Just checked out the Corvus in the shop on the hill @ Kicking Horse. Holy shit it's a totally new ski. I had my 188 2020 in the car and the flex is just totally different. Tails flex real easy, and it really just feel like a different ski.
I'd put it on my list, but would have to demo first. New serpo feels VERY different to the old one. Did not like the old one at all. Tails were super hard to release and kinda felt like it was a lost ski that didn't do anything well. Def need to demo as well haha. I'm excited for both!
Paging the draco phone, anyone get on one? Can they go on sale soon please lol
Does the new corvus still come in the 176cm size for us short folks?
The old Corvus was a fucking great ski that would crush most things in its path. It punished bad form but would deliver when you got it right. I was nervous when they went to a flat underfoot and totally changed it but they got it right again. Now, it seems that BC has taken away everything that makes a Corvus a Corvus. The Corvus isn't a jibber ski.
I agree with your review of the old one. However, the new one crushes too, but does other things better.it’s a different ski for sure, but as a diehard Corvus fan, I really want the new one.
I guess Id better just shut the fuck up and try the new one. What's the worse that could happen? Maybe Id like it.
That was my biggest fear and it happened. Now I want it.
Local shop hooked it up and let me take the new demo out for a few laps. I was skiing 2-3” on top of big but soft bumps.
I dig it, though I can’t compare it to the recent Corvus as I’d only skied the cambered version. Coming from my 189 Atris (2018) it felt more pivoty, little more planky, felt the lack of side cut and it was a little less nimble but super super fun. I love my Atris and how maleable it is to most all ski conditions, but this was fun to be on a more directional ski that maintained/returned to composure and was not demanding to throw around.
