Corvus for me is factory recommended side and base 1.3 and 3. I had somebody make sure I had those numbers before I skied them and they run like a dream . You might have had a fucked up tune out of the factory. Im glad you like them now they are nice skis.

I’ll say it again— that pic is killing you.

Why is the tail longer than the tip?

    Delete it, homie.

    Post again.

I didn’t really want to bother removing the binding just to find out I don’t have the correct but (I’ve only got a 4.1 at the moment). I might skip the remount. I have dynafit rad 2’s and only one of my two sets of boots fit if I have the heel pushes way forward. The remount isn’t necessary, but definitely appreciate the info.

You gonna delete? Like you did in the other thread?

    Everyone can see the perspective.

Also they do have quite a bit of tail.

Its amazing how their topsheets are basically just an arrow placed in different patterns and somehow they're still one of the best looking skis out there imo

Edit the photo by cropping it just a little bit and saving it before posting.

Mounted my new 185cm Navis Freebirds from the ptex1 sale with a FrankenCAST setup and skied them at the resort this weekend in New England. Carved groomers fine and skied the crust in the trees without any drama. If they float in a foot of fresh, which I expect they will just fine, I think they will be a great all rounder and travel ski.

I ordered a Camox Freebird from ptex1 for my wife as a new touring ski for her Valentine’s present… they’re even red!

They are. Most ski companies, including BC, list the actual material length of a ski, while Blister provides a flat tape pull length accounting for rocker and camber "shortening" the ski.

Correct. I'm referring to the blister article stating 190.6 vs the actual 190.2.

or there is just an abundancee of fucktards marketeers whose sole contribution to the sport is to add random marketing spins to sell more items, but whose real constribution is to create extra confusion.

Case in point Nocta v.3: material length vs actual length vs marketing length -> none are the same

#winning Duh, obviously it skis lika 190.2...

but the graphics are nice for the most part

you ski them yet? Or just post pretty pics? I could give two shits about powder performance… I want to know if that camber makes it more enjoyable on the run out to the lift on groomers. Did it settle down when the snow is harder? How’s it in chop? Like after 11am when everything is skied to shit. How’s the flex in comparison to your Atris?

    Nocta review

Thought I'd sit on this for two full years until the new version came out, then find an unexplainable impetus to share these words about the old Nocta. The v2 that is, 2016-2022.

An impeccably agile ski with forgiving flex. The full reverse camber feels loose in any snow and particularly freeing in heavy snow. The super low swing-weight make it great for darty maneuvers in tight trees or steep chutes. Welcomes air-time but also exceptionally accommodating to low-angle and low-speed skiing. It's not an easy ski in terms of balance and control, however, warranting confidence and attention to your stance at all times. It can make a great touring ski for PNW snow, and is reasonably capable inbounds with decent stability in light-chop, but limited overall versatility at the resort.

    Best Bits:
    • Super light and nimble on the feet.
    • Maximum manoeuvrability.
    • Great feedback from the snow.
    • Easy to kickturn.
    • Exceptional at low-angle and low-speed pow were most other skis drown.
    • Inspires dynamic, playful skiing with pops and slashes.
    • Master of wet and heavy powder.

    Worst Ways:
    • Hates firm-variable snow.
    • Hard upper speed limit.
    • Uninspiring at the resort.
    • Requires constant attention to fore/aft balance.

    Perception of overall stiffness:
    Front Center Back Real Weight
    2023 Mana4 190 8 8 8 2200
    2021 CT3.0 190 8 8 8 2390
    2021 Nocta 190 6 6 6 2160
    2022 Anima 194 6 9 6 2440
    2019 Anima 194 6 8 5 2310
    2022 G3 Slayr 195 10 10 10 1895
    2014 Cochise 185 9 9 9 2225
    2021 Raven 190 5 10 8 1800

I'll put the long-winded version of this writing up at steffen.fyi/black-crows-nocta

Hasn’t snowed since I got them. Nursing a herniated disc at the moment but it seems like I will get some time on them at Alta this week.

Flex wise I would say that it is very close to the Atris. Both are pretty soft from what I’m used too. Mindbender108/Wildcat/Deathwish. I will for sure post my thoughts after this week. I’ll take them out on a day when they aren’t warranted for you .

    The Black Crows thread

    Edit 2: these are gone!

Cheap camox freebirds in the swap. A little love and they’ll last you years.

    Edit: Ok wild one here.

Bought some skis. Want to keep the skins and bindings from the skis I listed.

These are going for free to the best cause.

Only requirement is to pass it forward.
