Friend of mine has an old classmate who was at the bowling alley last night with a buddy, said classmate got out but his buddy did not.

    MAINE DOES NOT:

Require background checks on all gun sales
    Have a red flag law
Prevent domestic abusers from accessing guns
    Ban assault weapons
    Limit magazine capacity
    Require concealed carry permits
    Restrict open carry
    Have a waiting period

    Thank you Susan Collins

Fuck man. Whole situation is fucked.

I'm not exactly sure what US Senator Collins has to do with state laws. Obviously she has plenty to do with national laws and is part of the problem, not the solution, for a lot of things, not just guns. As a concerned citizen from VT, can you guys please elect someone better?

Hadn’t seen any reporting on motives when I posted that.

Edit: Seems like he took an ‘all of the above’ approach to right-wing grievances. Economic, as well as all the others.

    Exactly
the average white male in this country is very alone and has self isolated the internet has done a good job helping
instead of sitting at the local bar maybe agreeing and disagree with others having discussions about anything from why the sky is blue to gun control
now these lonely white males who have given up sit on the internet for hours and thanks to the way the internet works they continuously get fed garbage that backs up their loneliness

I have an employee who subscribes to the prepper end of the world right wing bullshit
he listens to pod casts all day that back up how he thinks he feels
financial troubles yes, relationship issues yes, loner yes, lots of guns yes, drug and alcohol self medication issues yes
underneath his bullshit he is a great guy

his pod cast was on one day when I walked in and he left it on for five or ten minutes, I didn't know if I should be laughing or if I should be scared
it was non stop the end is coming it's going to be bigger than this war or this event or who knows it was almost comical to me

She has voted against them in the Senate down the line, point is she's not in favor of them.

WRT to electing someone better, I keep trying

Right, my quibble was one of semantics. Maine does not have the state laws that it should. Collins has cock blocked national laws (that would obviate the need for state laws).

‘It was very shocking,’ suspect’s neighbor says

Emerson’s neighbor, Ed Yee, told CNN it was “very shocking” to hear of the suspect’s alleged actions.

“He seems like a really nice guy. Nothing abnormal about him,” Yee said.

I mean, it’s normal to be really really enthusiastic about guns over people, right? Enough that you might imply lethal threats at anyone suggesting having sensible regulation [/sarc]

Too bad there wasn’t a good guy with a gun present. Maybe someone with military experience and firearm training.

Heard around town that his ex wife and kids live In my town. No school today for my kids due to “ the person of interest has ties to the school community” We are 40 miles from Lewiston. He looks familiar. Crazy shit
Suspect had to be committed for 2 weeks this summer from hearing voices and threatening to shoot up the national guard. Hopefully they get him soon or he offs himself, but he is a weapons instructor with outdoor living skills. This could take a while.
