Get right on that. Should be a piece of cake. Report back on progress next week
Think globally, act locally. Just head on down to 0block and explain to the homies and bangers you'd like them to turn in all their guns. SJG can show them all his posts here. Should work like a charm.

I'd take that. Lots of guns out there that aren't being used to kill people seems like an improvement to me.

You’re right. Difficult things aren’t worth doing for the greater good.

    What’s your easy-peasy solution?

There's a lot of pro-gun culture in the USA, a large portion of the population fucking love guns for some reason. How do you change that?

Here in Canada I've got a few friends who enjoy shooting and hunting, but by and large nobody cares about guns at all, let alone enough to go out and try to own one. Seems like a different mentality in the states, and if any laws are going to change I think this mindset needs to change first. Just an outsiders perspective from someone who doesn't know what they're talking about, is all.

Maybe it's because we don't have gun stores all over the place, or they're kind of a pain in the ass to obtain. I dunno.

Not surprising though. Nothing will happen in the US, we will continue our slow slide into anarchy. People that enjoy the freedoms that a civilized society provides would rather protect their individual freedom to own and carry firearms designed with only one purpose in mind at the cost of a civil and safe society. Like nearly half of Americans would rather society crumble than give up their black toys.

It’s become an identity and a lifestyle, LARPing of military “operators”
Carrying the calling card of the “true american”
Like your teen daughter’s obsession with crop tops and high waisted jeans
    Little more than recreation

And, as most of the posing is recreation instead of:
    opposing government tyranny,
    defending one’s property, or
populating a militia in defense of our country

It’s fucking dumb that we are beholden to these play actors

Best strategy is to flood their social media with some new obsession until they forget about this one. Unfortunately this one has really gripped a segment of this country by the short curlies…

You won't be calling it "LARPing" when the inevitable drag queen revolution starts. These heroes are the only ones standing between us and the new trans world order!

Really don't want to wade into this but....I found this interesting. How do you enjoy hunting, but not own a gun?

A few people hunt and have guns to do so.

But most people don't hunt or have guns or have any interest in doing/having either.

    Not rocket science.

Ah, sorry. For whatever reason I didn't separate them into two groups. I blame COVID fog.

These are the same people who believe being asked to wear a light proactive mask and other relatively simple measures to protect themselves and others from a potentially deadly new disease is too big of an individual sacrifice to bear for society.
Go that way really REALLY fast. If something gets in your way, TURN!

It's a little more nuanced than what's been said in the thread. Just among my friends & relatives in Canada there are four distinct groups. First, and by far the largest is the 'don't have guns or have any interest them'.

The second is, owns hunting guns, uses them, and got very hot under the collar from about the late 90s, and all the way through the 2000s when the federal government implemented stricter laws that covered literally all guns, including hunting, antiques, and collectibles. Eventually the government abandoned the parts that were considered to be overreach. (The don't really hunt, but live in the middle of nowhere, so need one folks are basically in the same group as the hunters)

The third and much smaller group wants to abolish all guns, and the even smaller fourth is envious of America, complete with competitive shooting, collecting and fetishizing.

Yeah, you can bet there are people everywhere who would own "black guns" if they were allowed to. Let's be honest: military equipment or equipment that even looks vaguely militaristic is sort of cool to a decent segment of (primarily) males. I doubt there's any appreciable difference between Canadian males and American males in this regard.
