So this offseason, we have not one, but *two* fledgling "pro" football leagues?? The XFL and the USFL. Didn't they learn their lesson about that already??
also: did the long-ass ad for women's flag football, shown immediately after Rhianna stopped singing, interest ANYONES wife/gf/female significant other?? That was clearly the target audience and reason for the timing of the ad...
My wife walked away 10 seconds into that (60 second?) spot. 0 fucks given and she was interested in most of the other ads.
My guess is those commercials were aimed at girls, not our generation. I think I read something the other day about how fast girls flag football is growing right now
The rigged angle doesn't make sense because the NFL doesn't think dynasties are good for business, but conspiracy theories usually have little to do with making sense.
Speaking of, what is the cincy spin on Hamlin being shown at the game? Still dead?

Lol at all the dynasty talk and TB12-Mahomes comparisons today when there's still the 90's Cowboys, 49ers late 80s Broncos and maybe even the Ravens saying 2 is all it takes to be a "dynasty"?
Recency bias is such a crutch in sports discussion since the advent of pocket computers and 24 hour news cycles.
Anyway. Today is the best day of the year for Browns fans. It's the end of the NFL season and the beginning of perpetual hope season.

If we're going to include close but no cigar Superbowl teams in the dynasty club Buffalo Bills.. Maybe Minnesota Vikings.
Go that way really REALLY fast. If something gets in your way, TURN!

Samuel L. Jackson as Jules Winnfield: Oh, I'm sorry. Did I break your concentration?
There were probably 7-8 20's something women at our viewing "party" and all of them said they'd never be interested in watching it. Definitely aimed at an even younger audience, maybe the 8-14y.o. crowd. Let's face it, if you're not playing flag football by then, you never will.
My heart bleeds for them.
My NFL franchise won an NFL title a decade and a half before I was even born and then was lost to another city only to come back as a shell of its former self to wander the NFL desert in amazing levels of ineptitude for another 24 years.
So yeah, I'm not sweating it either.

I got a buddy from France who watched the game. He was appalled at the ending with all the stalling and time management.
So I say "that's essentially our version of taking the ball to the corner flag to burn out the rest of the clock". He totally got it then..

All the people whining about the ending sound like people who only watch football one day a year. Late defensive holding calls and PI calls that extend drives and change outcomes are a regular feature of the NFL. Teams trying to catch up or go ahead often throw long more in the hopes of drawing the flag than in completing the pass. If you're counting on the refs keeping the flag in their pocket to make the game more entertaining don't hold your breath. Likewise if you expect Andy Reid to score quick so Hurts can lead a dramatic comeback, for maximum enterainment value. Greg Olsen certainly wasn't surprised at Reid running out the clock--he predicted exactly what happened. The only thing that was surprising is that McKinnon went down like he was supposed to. Superbowl money must be a lot bigger than whatever performance bonus is in his contract.
Now as far as dynasties go, the Bills losing 4 Superbowls in a row while Thurman Thompson tried to find his helmet has to count for something. I'm just not sure what.
