The two-part wood core design that stands as a unique innovation in the industry. This cutting-edge construction ensures a consistent transparency along the entire length of the ski, setting it apart from any other ski on the market.

    Makes sense.

    The whole description is chatgpt.

I think the description is accurate. The only goal for the ski is that you can see through the transparent base of the ski while looking from above (ie, on the chair) at any point along the length of it.

Maybe chat GPT gave them ‘transparent’ as the answer when they asked it what was missing from the current market?

Any Blaze 114 owners comment on mount points? I'm very much used skis mounted to -6 to -8 from rec and it looks like +2 from recommended comes to -10 on the B114. Anyone speak to how they feel on snow? Do you need to really focus on unweighting the tails of these to pivot and slarve? They respond alright to a more centered stance?

I'd be interested in the answer to this as well.

I didn't realize the 192 comes in at just over 2kg if their stated weights are reality. And being a volkl it might measure close to a true 192. I've gotten along well with their 3d sidecut in the m102. Maybe the blaze could work as a big guy touring ski.

So recommended is -11.5 and it looks like you "can" go up to +2 from rec which puts you at -9.5cm. I wonder if this will feel farther forward than on paper due to the deep rocker lines? Not sure how the whole 3D radius plays into the equation though?

TLDR; experiences with mount points on the Kendo?

Had my first turns on my new Kendos. 184s. Expected them to ski like a narrower Mantra 102, but first impression left me a little bit meeh?
Conditions were yesterdays 5-10cm un-groomed and by the time I switched to the Kendos it was soft and rough groomes.
Mounted with Pivots at the rearmost line - like I have my 102s.

Disclaimer: early season, first day of proper skiing, and spent the first couple of hours on my Rustler 11s.

The good; excellent edgehold, but the snow was soft so that's not saying much, tail could really be loaded up with a lot of energy and like the Mantra you could easily adjust turn sizes with pressure and/or edge angles. Floated better than for example the Enforcer 88s I had a few years back.

The bad (?): I felt strangely disconnected from the front of the ski. I had to work more consciously to engage the front of the ski than I have to on the Mantra 102. It wasn't a problem in any way, but left me a bit unsure how they will work out as a dedicated hard pack ski

The obvious reason is lack of driver input early in the season, combined with them being a fair bit lighter than the Mantras and being knocked around a bit. But the Rustlers felt just fine, and until I put the Kendos on I felt pretty good for a first day of the season.

The Kendos hand flex a lot softer than the Mantras, so that might also have something to do with this. And the tails felt a bit short, but that was probably also contributing to how easy it was to flex them.

Anyhow; will put a few more days on them, and according to the forecast I'll have them on ice soon enough. Considering mounting them a cm forward, but would like to hear other opinions

A couple years ago I got a pair of the 193 Shiros and could not believe how fun they were!

Then last year I got a pair of the 193 Confessions and was super stoked . I liked the combo of having some camber but the tail is so soft that you can still push them around.

Today I got back on the Shiros and was literally giggling to myself about how fun and easy they are to ski!

and yeah, those new 'see though' skis look a little sus...

Had a line on some 193 shiros. Wanted to try them but the beater owner thought they were worth way more than I wanted to pay.

I have both my Kendos and M102s mounted on the forward line. I feel like I can drive the tips better, but that's just me.

The whole mount point issue came up when grabbed a demo M6. They felt kind of dead, like it was lacking something. Move the clamps to get me closer to the forward line and the ski opened up. I was also in Lupo 130s at the time, so a shade upright in my stance and the softer tongue. Now with Kryps, I like how I can drive the ski and feel centered and the tail holds thru the turn.

But I also grab my m102 more now patrolling in the Midwest. Kendos will probably get let go when I can get my hands on the next version in a month or so.

Had a couple of hours on them on hard, edgable smooth groomers. No problems engaging tips, must have been rough groomers/less weight. They’re definitively less ski than the 102s.

Edge grip still very good, and have the same ability as the 102 to transition from carve to slarve and back again

Any chance someone knows what material BMT 90 sidewalls are made of? Is it ABS? I compressed an edge pretty badly and am thinking of trying to route out the sidewall and graft in a new section, so hoping to understand what the original material is in the hopes of minimizing any changes in flex.

I'm looking for a skinny lotus 120. I'm looking for a couloir ski that's light to boot pack with, but also good with shit wind hammered snow to epic pow. I have the 177cm BMT 109. I think it's too short for how I ski. How is the katana vs BMT 109? Theres a 184 katana for sale in my area. Should I wait to score a 187 BMT or can I pornise the wife the katana is the last ski I buy.

I have the 186 bmt109 and it's my favorite ski of all time. Not much else to say about it. It's great in virtually all conditions, damp, stable, predictable, and endlessly fun. I typically prefer touring skis in the 180 range and the 186s are perfect for me.

I’ve got the 184 KVW, haven’t skied the BMT 109. 100% happy with the KVW in the conditions you describe and it does great. If you’re ok with the weight, I’d go with that for the extra stability. I use them with Ion12 LTs and Vulcans. I’m 5’8” 175ish, mostly bc use, but they’re my lift-served skis when that happens.

    What's your area?

    I'm a previous lotus 120 fan with a katana 184 for sale.

Pair of BMT 94’s in 186 (or is it 184?) at Durango Outdoor Exchange. They were the older white/red/black ones. Looked pretty beat or I’d of paid more attention…
I think they were $350 ish w/ Ions

Also had some Nunataq’s, a minty pair 1st year Confessions, and various Mantras.

    Squamish, BC.

Good point about the weight. 400g isn't negligible, but with trab vario they would be a pretty light kick ass set-up.

Aye, those are my Katana 184's for sale in Squamish. As a previous lover of lotus 120's I'd say you would get on with the Katanas....but I would say that as I am trying to sell them!

I'm only selling them as I have upgraded to the 191 Katanas.

Cool I will see if my gf/friends want first dibs. You can take them for a spin. They are great skis, but I aspire to to sky with shin pressure at all times.

Not really, I have shifts on them for short side country stuff but I have 186 BMT 109's with a light binding for proper touring.

Big sticks! I saw an older guy a few years ago on longboards like that on a sleeper pow day. He stuffed his tips into the snowbank out coming out of the base lift and it flipped him right out of the chair onto his head.
